Thank you for watching!!! So, have you found yourself stuck in such a situation before? How did you deal with it in the end?

Myrto, I can completely relate to what you are saying. Although I do still fluctuate between realism and trying to create or change what I see in the photo, I wish I could paint what I see in my head. I completely agree that just copying a photo creates great results if the photo is perfect. I’m not saying it does not take skill and that some artists are exceptional at hyper photo realism but I get more excited when I try and create something of my own. I am not as active on Instagram as I once was due to time constraints but still follow and admire what you are doing💕 Your butterflies are delightful! 🦋

Thank you so very much Carla!!! I think you expressed it even better than me, exactly my thoughts!!! It does take great skill and I'm sure it makes a lot of artists and collectors happy!!! Same as you though, I personally feel much happier creating my own things and trying to put my imagination on paper! I find it harder but it's definitely worth it for me!!! Thank you for your support and for watching!!! So glad to see you can relate to it! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

My goodness. My story is so similar to yours. I started with realism to build my skills, but became reliant on photos without much focus on composition and lighting and such. I've become more and more de-motivated recently with the feeling that I'm just copying other people's ideas rather than making work that speaks to my soul. I want to start tackling my imaginative compositions and landscapes based on my own references more. I still love still lifes and portraits, but I want to work from life more. I want to go plein air painting, set up my own still life arrangements, and express my emotions more. I want my take on the world to be seen through my art instead of someone elses. I like classical realism, but my goal has always been impressionism and expressionism. And recently I've been wanting to explore abstract expressionism as well. I want to learn the whole of creation, not JUST how to work from a photo.

That's exactly how I felt too Maria!!! It's not that I don't appreciate realism, it's just a personal need to create something different and facing that fear is absolutely worth it!!! I'd say go for it without a second thought and you'll be amazed by the results!!! 💕 It's scary and at the start it's hard and it takes a lot of effort, but doing something that excites you makes all this process so much easier!!!! I'm so happy that this video is helping some of you take the next step like I did, I'm wishing you the best in your new adventures and I can't wait to see what you'll be creating in the future!!!! 💕 ❤️ 💕

I definitely relate and even feel that at times that my drawings from a reference that I don’t change even look better and more professional but they are not as much fun! 💕💕

Exactly!!! I almost had a nervous breakdown when I started doing my own non realistic drawings and they looked like a child had drawn them when I could have been creating more paintings like The Kiss!!! It was embarrassing to say the least, but I knew that it was a necessary process in order to learn and grow and reach my destination!!! So, I'd say, keep practicing if that's what you love the most!! 💕 ❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕

I so appreciate your words on this subject. This week I've been working on some drawings and having a great time with it, but I also felt a little deflated because I looked at them and thought no one else would care and I've invested so many hours on them. I've been drawing and painting most of my life (now in my 60s) and I still struggle with feeling entitled to do what I want. So thanks again for your wise words.

**HugZZZ..!** I am so glad you made this video Myrto. As you already know, I got myself stuck in the similar situation and thanks to you and your words of encouragement and support... I finally stepped out of that 'supposedly comfort zone' and pursue what was really in my heart! My hubby has been pushing me to 'let go' and create and express with my own art. It was 'scary' - like you said when I have to make that decision. But Im glad we spoke Myrto because you could relate to what I was feeling and vice versa. I admire your passion and zest..your friendship and hey...you've got me! And THIS is reality! Luv ya! :o* PS: Love what you're creating and Im HAPPY that youre HAPPY! :oD

I'm in love with your most recent drawings and knowing that I played a teeny tiny role in that makes me smile every time I see one of your posts!!! I love you too and I'm happy you found what makes you happy and faced your fear!!! Isn't it amazing on this side??? And extra kudos to your hubby, who, like mine is so supportive!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's me Clariece (SiriuslyArt) and I have to say that this video was very inspiring and thank you for sharing this. Realism is my passion but I have to say their are things I'm too scared to explore because I don't want it to look bad. Surreal pieces that I want to paint but the idea seems too weird but hearing you talk about this really made me want to explore those ideas and becoome a little more creative.

Woah, thank you so much Clariece!!! I felt exactly the same and sometimes it feels like it will never stop being like that 😅 But in reality, it makes me happy no matter the result and in the long run, with enough practice I'll get better at it too! And now at least I'm practicing the right things, right? ☺️ It makes me happy that my video might be the reason you'll try something new and face your fears, thank you for that!!! 💕 ❤️ 💕

Haha we did indeed!!!! What matters is that we both changed for what we love! Doing realism is amazing, as long as it is what the artist really loves :D And your realism is absolutely gorgeous so bonus points for that :)

I'm admiring your courage to step outside of your comfort zone, to achieve your dreams 😀 I think realism have helped you in your new art style, as it have taught you a lot about details, contrast, lights/shadows etc. 😍 I love your art, it's so colorful and joyful, and it inspires me to do more of the ideas I have in my head! 😀

Thank you so very much!!! It hasn't been always easy but it's definitely worth it in the long run! I think it has helped me too and it's been a great journey, hoping to keep improving! If I inspire another artist or two to try the same, it's a huge win! I hope you'll go for it!!! Thank you once more! :D

I feel like I am listening to myself. As we both started at 33 and I have only spent about 10 months on n off in this journey, I feel that the reason for me to get into the art scene was for expressing my thoughts in my work n being happy about it. (Not all thoughts need to be spoken.) And the very art education available out there kinda makes people deviate from this path. So now I know enough to create art but not enough to fuck my freedom of expression.
@MyrtosArtCorner3 жыл бұрын
You are so right, about art education and sometimes even about how others around us feel about art. It's so easy to let those affect us, but, then again, this is another perk of being a bit older, knowing ourselves better and doing as we please instead of listening to our surroundings!
@morimori87375 жыл бұрын
Smart words. It´s very important to stay true to yourself even if it means taking some hard decisions. What is the point of doing anything if you don't learn and evolve from it? :-) Very nice drawing by the way, I love butterflies :-)
