Just wanted to make video on me getting a new sketchbook and starting it. And my experiences as an artist with the IPad Pro.

The ipad pro has broken my daily traditional drawing habits, and I too find myself double tapping my pencil to switch to the eraser! I also try to zoom in on the paper xD It's such a brilliant invention for art, but the habits you learn from it are very difficult to remove

I think the limitations in traditional art helps us push our boundaries. Being unable to undo things, having to work with what you have on hand as well as the limitations from the medium you are using.

Then again with digital art you are able to accelerate your drawing progress in working with different tools and experimenting without going through the fuss of erasing or possibly permanently messing up your work. If you want to get good fast, then don't do traditional art. Traditional art is in anyways not as profitable or valuable in modern times. But what makes traditional nice in some way is that you can choose your paper and tool brands, and that you know that there is only one, true copy of your art. Digital art can just be copy pasted and then you sell a virtual stock on Etsy. Honestly I lean more towards the digital side. I am a young adult who abandoned my traditional talent years ago, and now I have to play catch up and decided to follow my passion instead of working dead end jobs. Now I have to get good fast, and what better way than using the digital medium.

Absolutely! Also you can't really reproduce the flow of the ink how it randomly flows through the paper fibers. Same thing with watercolor. You can try to emulate this naturally random flow and blending digitally but you'll never be able to reproduce the organic behaviour of the watercolor.

I don't have enough markers with me to make my art look good so I asked my parents *COPIC MARKERS* or *DRAWING TABLET* ? they chose *COPIC MARKERS* thinking that it costs 100 rupees or so. when I told them that it actually costs 25,000 rupees for 72 marker set ( which I wanted) and 12 marker set costs 4,620 rupees and it has to be refilled once it gets over. They were so shocked. so they decided to me a drawing tablet and now I make art with my XP PEN DECO 1.

I'm a digital artist but I like to sketch out my ideas and such traditionally because of how things feel more permanent in my sketchbook...and it helps, I've been going back to ideas I had at the beginning of the year. Never did that with digital sketches.Of course I do make the occassional traditional peice but that's more or less to relax as making digital art for some reason stresses me out at times. lol I'm also more likely to keep earlier renditions of an idea too, because if I did every step digitally I'd just delete the layer.

Writing, drawing, and painting traditionally are the only tools that we have in this modern era full of technoligical advancements. While i don't fully support digital way of creating arts. I really think our older generation's artists passed the baton to us to continue and preserve the legacy. Idk about y'all but making art traditionally still hits different.

This was good to know. I recently got an iPad so I could clean up my traditional drawings digitally. I definitely love the wide variety of tools I can use and the ability to not just make it clean, but also imitate painting and watercolors.

When i was in high school, i spent around 50 to 100myr for books, art tools per year and i dont earn money either. Sadly, my artbooks had to be burn because termites ate them. When i became an adult, I don't buy any of the s pen tablet android or apple. I've been using samsung m11 in the past and draw using ibispaint with fingers then i use tecno pova le6. I was even able to draw commissioned arts using that so i upgrade this year with redmi pad se which is only 799myr with the specs and everything it has to offer total 5stars upgrade. In long term i could say that digital art saved more costs. I still use my phones and the redmi pad can last me for another 5 years or 3 years at least. Digital art doesnt improve ur art but it saved you so much time and other cost besides u can also use the phone or tablet for other purposes. I'm now saving to buy a gaming laptop and a graphic tablet. There's so much benefits with digital art. But i do draw on paper sometimes for no particular reason.

I am so much more productive now, since i have used procreate on my ipad. I don’t have to prepare any art supplies, but just open up procreate and start working on a art work or work between many art works within seconds. I hate cluttered art supplies now.

Ever since I got my Samsung Tab s6 Lite, I have fell in love with the idea of sticking with digital. It is the perfect device for it. It is really convenient and allows me to experiment with mediums I would be too afraid to with. But.... Somehow I am drawn back into traditional. I think I can focus better and sketch better. I'm more deliberate and can draw a bit more loosely. I think I will alternate between the digital is great for experimenting and clean work or graphic design while traditional is better for sketching and doing studies.

I know this video isnt saying digital art is 'easy' but, As an artist that does both digital and traditional art, I will say that the main thing that makes it more... difficult... would be getting used to the digital tools themselves. adjusting how you coordinate your hands, the amount of pressure you use when drawing/shading, and for someone like me who uses a laptop + graphics tablet rather than an iPad, you have to train yourself to be efficient with keyboard shortcuts to switch between tools. However, once you get through that learning curve, digital art makes artmaking so much more EFFICIENT! I prefer the word efficient rather than “easy” because easy implies that you need less skill to make art digitally. However any professional artist who does digital illustrations, or concept art for movies and video games will tell you that digital shortcuts and tools can only take you so far. You still need to have good understanding of proportions, values, and other traditional art skills in order to make a good digital portrait for example. But digital art does make things so much more efficient. Perspective drawing for example, is made so much easier with digital tools. There’s the glorified undo button we all know, and color picking! I’m not offended when people say digital art is “easy”, but rather Im afraid that new artists will be misleaded into thinking the computer or tablet does all the work for you. You still need a solid understanding of traditional drawing and artmaking skills if you want to be good at digital art! I still make sure to draw traditionally from time to time for practice

our experiences might be different as i use a screen-less digital tablet, but I've always felt like i never quite learn the shape and from of things on it as well I do when I'm drawing traditional. it's like the muscle memory just doesn't stick as well, neither does my sense of proportions. that's how I balance traditional and digital. traditional is how I teach myself things like form and structure and anatomy; on digital, I can go crazy with colors and composition along and flex my imagination. I make all my large pieces on digits. there's value in both, undeniably.
