As a low masters dps console player, every single comp game has at least 2 or 3 ximmers, if not the whole enemy team. European servers especially. I just straight up stopped playing comp on that role because i was genuinely just hard capped. What can I do against a mercy booster widow/soldier/sojourn? I CANNOT WAIT for the s11 xim bans to come into effect so I can finally play my favourite role competitively again.

@@generalkenobi2088 they were “allegedly” banning people this season, but I’ve noticed no difference in their numbers or frequency. But starting next season, anyone detected to be using xim software will be put into matches with other ximmers only. They will also have aim assist permanently disabled on that account for repeat detected use of xims. So in theory, we shouldn’t be seeing ximmers in our games for long. They will eventually get filtered out once their detection and action system goes into effect in s11

@@krazyd0nut404 well yeah, but that’s just using aim bot cheating software, which is an actionable offence, and the game is typically pretty good at picking that kind of thing up. Ximming on consoles, while considered cheating, was NOT an actionable offence on Blizzards side as they couldn’t prove it. Now they can. This is HUGE for the console competitive community.

I started and main OW on PC, but I switched to console due to the fact that the crossplay pool is bigger on console, and it didn't punish me for being a lone wolf like on PC. I only care about Quickplay and Deathmatch, and the only time I get a crossplay lobby is if someone is queued with a console friend.

This is the same reason why I left consoles as a whole. As a competitive player both on PC and console, the console platform is heavily restricted both hardware wise and aspiration wise. Most people that were actually good on console left the platform for PC and applied the skills there to climb the competitive ladder with the least amount of restrictions. Even for those that have no chance or desire to go pro, it still opens up the opportunities for careers involving content creation and esports. You simply can't get those opportunities on console.

I left console 4 years ago and haven't looked backed, I don't miss the constant toxic console community especially in Masters and above. ximming being as rampant as it has been for years was the last straw for me. I grew up on consoles up until a few years ago, but I don't even own one anymore. But whatever makes you happy and making great content should only be what matters

Playing on a keyboard and mouse doesn’t automatically make you better than console players like a lot of them think. I use controller when I play on pc at college because I do a esports course and I do completely fine in pc lobbies and I don’t get aim assist either.

Ximming isn't just using knm on console. It's using a device that tricks the game into thinking you're still using a controller.

yeah, and they're using it because OW has safeguards in place that don't allow using your KnM normally so you can't do things like rotate freely. XIM removes things like these

I play on pc when solo queing. But my friends play on console, and ill hop on Playstation to play with them. Yes crossplay is a thing, but all being on the sticks makes it more fun. Stay good on mouse and keyboard, and controller to be a true chad.
