Been driving Uber for the past three months and have had the opposite experience. Totally love it. Most people tip. It’s rare that they don’t. I have had plenty of intoxicated people in the car. All have them have been completely manageable. I have also been a paramedic for the past 13 years, so my threshold for being uncomfortable has been drastically changed by that. I am comfortable being uncomfortable. Rock chips, tire ware, battery cycles are normal for driving a car. If you’re not okay with them, then keep it in the garage and call Uber so other people can take the rock chips. Why the seat covers? They’re seats and are supposed to be used. I have done about 300 trips in my M Y and it’s holding up completely fine. Quick soap/warm cloth wipe down before I go online each time and they’re completely fine. All of your complaints are either obvious to anyone before they start driving Uber (putting wear on your vehicle) or completely subjective. Guess Uber isn’t for you. That’s fine. The benefit of doing rideshare with BEV is that you’re not accelerating the time between major services under the hood, oil changes, gas, and it’s a much more smooth and comfortable ride for passengers. You should have 1.5 - 2K cycles on that pack. In other words 10 years of 37.5K - 50K miles/year. So, the maintenance above and beyond normal maintenance for a Tesla you should need to do is…more frequent cabin and HEPA air filter changes, more frequent tire replacements, and more frequent windshield washer fluid refills. But remember, you’re getting paid to do rideshare, so that’s just a normal part of driving. Taxes are the same if you work a traditional job or a gig job. It’s just that with gig work you have to take care of them at the end of the year.

UNDER $600 EARNINGS WILL NOT RECEIVE A 1099 FORM, SO BASICALLY YOU DONT HAVE TO REPORT IT.

Regarding safety, if you don't know your general area well, as in within a 50-100 mile radius if wherever you work, I don't recommend this job. I cherry pick rides and don't go to or from certain areas for my own safety. Because chances are if you work the dangerous areas long enough something bad is gonna happen to you. As far as the Tesla, if you guys don't have a charger at home I strongly do not recommend doing rideshare with an EV. It can be a major pain having to charge it all of the time at a charging station and what you wanna do with rideshare is drive less and earn more, not the other way around. Cheers!

Yes, but I guess the idea is with not doing Uber you're not driving nearly as much, at least for me. When I do drive this gives me the option to avoid the potholes by sticking to roads I know vs where Uber tells me when I don't know the area.

@@BryceAdvice Uber is constantly making me drive in new unfamiliar areas. It can be unsafe and also I've gotten bogus tickets because the most confusing areas tend to also have a cop waiting around and I've never gotten a speeding ticket, but some neighborhoods are 1ways all over the place or 'do not enter' at certain times but they're not always clearly marked but the ticket can be much worse than speeding.

@@kimpeater1 I dont Uber and I drive the same routes 99% of the time. I know where the potholes are and the new speed cameras. People driving for ride share have a lot more potential with these issues. With the new speed and red light cameras in larger cities being everywhere, there are some reports of them malfunctioning and people need to pay the fine or go to court to dispute even though they did nothing wrong. That would be a lot of lost time or money for a Uber driver.

Not knowing where I was gonna end up at the end of the day and if there would be a supercharger in the local area and the whole charging experience itself (so much time spent to find, travel to, and wait in line) was a major reason why I stopped Uber with Tesla.

Been doing uber for a year in my tesla and ive been getting better at it. I understand you say it doesnt work for you but ur making points about why people shouodnt do it. Lol. "Just dont do it, find something else" then u say "it didnt work for me" lol So pretty much i dont think you did it right and using that experience to hate. Since rideshare is a business at the end of the year you have a lot of things to itemize. Check how to do taxes if ur doing rideshare. Potholes are everywhere wether u drive a lot or a little bit. Wear and tear is a thing. If u made $279 doing uber for a week then u really didnt work. I made $252 yesterday and 1k Mon-Thur. While taking Wed off. What i am getting at is that you havent figured out; how to work, when to work, where to work, and tips to work. Either way if ur trying to get a cybertruck by selling the 3 then yeah stay away from rideshare so u can retsin more value.

This video failed to explain that car payment is for 60-70 months and as a full time Uber/Lyft driver your going to put at least 8k-9k miles on the Tesla every month. This video also fails to explain the Tesla will be out of warranty within the first 12 months of ownership with a full time Uber/Lyft driver. The best and ONLY car a full time Uber/Lyft driver should purchase new is a Prius or Camry. The Honda Accord is a good car as well and would round it my top 3 cars for Uber driving full time. NEVER purchase the Tesla used or new it's DEFINITELY not a car that's practical for Uber/Lyft driving full time. I also have to MENTION with the Tesla you'll be watching your life disappear having to fast charge at least 2-3 times a day or every 3-4 hours. This will definitely turn your 8 hour shift into a 10 hour shift every time and there's no way around it. I'm a full time Uber driver in Orlando, Florida and I've rented the Tesla for 4 months straight. I was making $2,100-$2,500 per week driving my personal gas car driving the full 12 hours per daily shift that Uber allows. In the Tesla I'm making $1,700-$1,850 per week and this is due to the constant 45 minutes per charge and charging at least 2-3 times per 12 hour shift. Whoever believes Tesla is the car to use for ride sharing is an idiot 😔

@@sensay813 Agreed. If I were doing Uber it would be with a used Prius from the last generation. The older Prius still get 50mpg and can take the miles of a ride share with cheaper maintenance although they are all getting older now so the window for having a reliable one is closing. Driving an expensive EV can't be making that much money in the end when considering the cost of the vehicle payments. Plus some will need a new battery and that's a massive cost with EV.

EV are definitely cheaper to run than gasoline ICE vehicle. The pain ful part for EVs comes when the battery pack has to be replaced. For a MOdel 3, the battery pack replacemetn including labour is about $10K USD. So, that surely will wipe out all the savings from gasoline and oil changes even over 7 years? And, I haven't even mentioned that EVs have higher depreciation rates because they are more expensive than ICE AND they depreciate quicker because the newer EV models get cheaper over time AND NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL PAY MUCH FOR A USED EV DUE TO THE COST OF THE BATTERY PACK REPLACMENT.

He'd Uber passengers to get in the area he was working that day. When he was done he'd Uber his way home. Same for going out. He'd uber to go out. He'd meet up with friends for dinner or drinks. He'd catch the drunks at the end of the night until he was tired. He did quite well. (Tampa)

For all those inquiring minds the answer is, yes all citizens of Louisiana are legally allowed to open carry or concealed carry or however they want to possess weapons, including in their vehicle as long as they are 18 years or older, and of course as we all know of course it's against any business policy to take your guns to work,,,lololol you no you can't drive around with your shotgun over your shoulder while having some buddies kid in the backseat that you're getting paid to drive around, even if the hillbilly Hicks state that you live in says you can drive around and Levi cut-offs a wife beater and a gallon of moonshine with your sawed-off shotgun out the window you still can't do it while you're working😮

Speaking of guns I remember when New Orleans flooded or whatever the problem was and all the black people are uprising because they were the ones forced to be underwater and they were trying to leave the neighborhoods and all the white people and the national guard had guns and weapons against them and said " we will shoot or kill anybody darker than a paper bag " that's a quote on the news they were showing black people holding their babies up screaming for help, please feed my baby give us water give us food as they were forced into the Superdome thing where people were getting raped and murdered because they were black😮 I guess that all has something to do with why as you said you're allowed to carry weapons because it's dangerous, but sorry from memory the only thing I know about New Orleans and weapons is white people holding black people hostage in their own neighborhoods with guns with the legal backing of the state government and federal "national guard" government to keep those "black" people in their black communities under threat of their own death of starvation ,didn't BB King himself have to get row boated out by somebody that paddled a boat in there to get him out, I mean how racist is that? you wouldn't even get your own celebrities and people who make that state absolutely famous out just because of the " color of their skin "they had to stay in those neighborhoods, I bet your father reads this and tells you I'm just a horrible racist person gives you a hug and you both go out and do some nice white father-son thing, lol i bet you think you and your father are just the most nicest educated wonderful people I'm positive we could all just go out for lunch and by the end of it you and your father would trying to stomp me to death and shoot me because you can't handle interactions with people so your father trained you and taught you how to buy and use weapons or maybe he didn't train you a lot but just taught you that that's a great concept probably bought for you including your multiple cars but that's a whole nother subject

New law starting July 4th, 2024 allows an individual to carry a concealed weapon such as a handgun on their person without a license. Current law states that the weapon must be visible on your person. However a vehicle is considered an extension of your home in Louisiana therefore you are allowed to carry all the weapons such as guns that you would like to.
