Why i switched to box goggles.

With my orqa goggles still down i needed a way to fly so i dusted off the ole box goggles to give them another try, i forgot how different everything looks in box gogs it was really hard to fly! this sucked! Thankfully orqa is awesome and got back to me right away they are currently on route back to the orqa lab to be dissected and (hopefully) repaired.

No shame in box goggles. I flew the Fatshark transformers for almost two years before they finally made the HDO2s and earned my money. With the binocular viewer on the transformers I had a 55 degree FOV and diversity built in receiver. So they were not bad at all just big and nerdy looking. i have been flying fpv for a year using box goggles, and i've always had the same problem you had in the video: couldn't see poles/people/small stuff unless i was very close to them (which is super dangerous). i've always blamed the analog low resolution but maybe i just need to get a decent pair of goggles lmao

I spent my firs 100-200 packs flying theese, but instead of those fancy lollipops I was running stock dipoles so the moment I went behind a tree I could barely see anything, and the image quality is so bad you can literally count the pixels on the screen. My eachine ev100 arrived a month ago and it feels so much better when you can see where you're fliying

i've been thinking of asking a youtuber to go back to box goggles for a week, the reason its harder is because its more immersive, bigger screen makes it more like actually flying as opposed to small screens which make it into a video game, i think i'm gonna find it hard to give up the ev800d's, even with dji goggles, but it would be cool to see you try to fly the little emax ones for a week, especially for long range and cool scenery.

Great video dude. I've been flying R/C planes since 90's but new to FPV and rockin' Fat Shark Scouts. My buddy has those same ones you used and the lag on them is terrible. That was probably the main reason for your unease with them, and why even your muscle memory seemed to be failing you. What you're seeing is a beat behind your movements. Can confirm. The emax stock crap box gogs are just fine for testing fpv waters but that's it. I'm still flying a tinyhawk freestyle 2 coz I'm a big noob but I upgraded goggles asap. The Aomway commander v1 I "upgraded to" that's over 3 years old, probably about fourth or fifth hand and smells like the bottom of a gym bag still shits on the emax box of pus. (please note, I tried washing the foam but that smell still persists and is ingrained at a molecular level most likely). Grind hard Sir Bot 🤘

I got 2 different goggles. The emax box goggles and dji v2s with the digidapter and I just ordered the fusion to go in the digidapter. I had rapidfire in it but I didn't like how it conformed to the digidapter so I went with tbs fusion. Plus its black from the get go. I'm so OCD I would have payed to get the black module cover for the rapidfire if I had decided to stick with it but the module cover overlapped in a stupid way. It just couldn't calm my OCD lol

I plugged my dji goggles up to 6s on accident and i almost shit myself. but luckily i unplugged them immediately and then prayed for a second and plugged in a 4s and everything seemed to be fine. i got lucky i believe. or Dji lied to us and v1 can be ran on 6s. I won't be trying it again to find out...
