When I started mountain biking, 26'ers were it. When 29'ers came on the scene, they sucked at first, but then it clicked and worked. I do like the 29' pants buzz, because it's a clear signal that I should perhaps tone it down a bit, because I tend to overdo it. Last thought - if 27.5 in the back is good, perhaps going back to the original 26" rear might have finally come full circle and be a truly sweet setup (pun intended), as the wheel can be far stronger, minimal interference, and even whippier. Who cares about rock crawling getting over things!

For sure. Personally, I like going fast, so an even smaller wheel might be a bit much in terms of getting hung up on things. But hey, on those jump lines it could work really well. Jorden boost mast did something like that and he seemed to like it on jump lines. Although, I don’t see it working that well on heavy DH tracks and such. But who knows, maybe an even smaller MX wheels will catch on. To be honest, I wouldn’t be opposed to trying that wheel set up. 😄

How do you like that 170mm and 170mm setup did it change the pedaling platform in a negative way? Is the bromad setup a good setup? Thanks

I like it! I did a whole video on it that will be posting in the next 2 weeks, or you can access it early on Patreon now! I got technical with the suspension change and how it needs to be setup in that configuration in the video. Lots of great info in it!

A true mullet is actually long in the back and short at the front, so large diameter at the back and small diameter at the front. So that setup is actually a reverse mullet, but we call it a mullet. Kind of like how clipless pedals clip in and flats are not called clipless pedals. Who decides these things?

Technically clipless pedals refer to any pedal without a toe clip and strap so both flats and clip in pedals (SPDs) are clipless.

It's based on business up front, party in the back. So it makes sense. 29er means business with plowing and sorts, while the 27.5 is smaller and flickable, making it fun.

How is it on the climb, compared to a full 29er ?
@cunning-stunt

@@jamesmendoza9686 Not as good as a full 29er but I don't think most are too worried about it. Depends how steep and tight your climbs are and how proficient of a technical rider you are.
