I had the same issue on a new xx sl t type transmission. Lucky SRAM replaced under warranty. But I had to drive 200km to the shop were I bought it. I also encountered the issue during an event that stopped me from racing.

Also, SRAM Transmission is not trash. It’s just for some people. I personally ride XTR and will never ride another drivetrain because it’s my belief there is nothing comparable. Again, to each their own. Also, Great job fixing that derailleur 🤙.

Did you handle the sram communication or a bike shop. I’m a bike shop owner and sram sends us new derailleurs with questions, photos or proof of purchase. **for this particular issue**

Have you tried a cable actuated sram gx?? Works everytime. Lol
@sethchapman800116 сағат бұрын
Yeah, between electronic shifting and carbon fiber frames and components bicycles are landfill just waiting to happen. With the need for sustainability to keep from completely destroying our environment modern bikes are awful. There needs to be a return to steel frames and cable shifting, as they can last a really long time

Before you dissamble and replace the pogo pins. Try to soak them in IPA or some other fluid that clean electronics and move the pins up and down several times

For everybody that got this trash use some dielectric grease on the pogo pin to stop water ingree and will keep the contact and spring rust free

This happens on Eagle AXS as well. Happened to my XX1 rear mech, but thankfully I’m pretty good with a soldering iron and fixed it for a few cents. Shouldn’t have had to though. This is why I like Shimano Di2. No issues.

I’ve had a similar issue with an axs dropper post, it was outside of warranty and SRAM didn’t want to sell me a brand new pcb assembly which was the most frustrating part. Had to replace the pogo pins, it’s good now.

This is why I only ride mechanical derailleurs, sure they may not be as light and as expensive as SRAM shit show but man, to still own one after 5 years and some servicing, they still run so good. Like smartphones, anything that required a battery to run will cost you more if it breaks, is outdated or if you need to replace just the battery. How people got sold into this was ludicrous, but I guess experince is the best teacher here. Sad you had to drop that much money on a derailleur man. Stay away from any such systems from now on.

Hey Mate , I had the exact same problem on a brand new system I bought a few months ago. I had it warrantied and still had the problem. Th best fix is putting a small bit of cable tie between the side of cage and battery. This will tighten the system and you shouldn’t have any problems.

Another example how simple things get over complicated. Besides that, the electronics are bad engineered. You know these components get wet and dirty.

Am I the only one who’s had no issues with AXS ever? I was an early adopter when it was released in 2019 and it’s been absolutely perfect since. One of my XX1 kits has almost 5000 miles on it. I’ve also had XO Transmission, GX Transmission that’s been flawless

After smashing my 3rd shimano derailleur this year, I've set my mind on not investing into the axs world, after watching the vid, I'm glad I didn't for this reason and the cost issue when smashing it. I buy the deore 11 speed derailleur for my 12 speed drivetrain as its exactly the same as the 12 speed one but £15 cheaper!

I currently own 3. 2 gx axs ever since they were released. Never had any issues and i installed them both myself. 1 gx t type and it’s still running smooth i also installed myself. My buddies all use either axs or t type and still no issues. Could be you received a bad unit. I recommend sending an email to Sram if this happened with in the first year of ownership.

Lesson to learn, buy new from a dealer. Part of what you are paying for is the warranty.

And for the price you shouldn't have to do all this most people don't know how to solder or even get close to fixing this at this point it's pretty crazy that a company knows about this and won't even redesign it which way it cost him much money or if any money at all😢😢😢😢

Sucks, but the bike industry using paying customers for R&D ain’t nothing new. I’m coming up to 1 year ownership of gx axs and I’ve not had any issues, I must be lucky. Only use a hose with gun attachment for cleaning, but the bike gets used in horrendous conditions here in Scotland and I’ve always left the battery in when cleaning the bike.

Had good experience with specialized/sram. But the brakes are a no, no - 4 times seized on new units. easy fix but should not happen. Sram cable gearing has been consistent when x1 xo1, xx1 as the pins remain incredibly solid over big milages. The Roxshox dropper has been hit and miss. The bikes though, fantastic. Shame they did not help this lad.

I work at a bike company that sells a few models with the GX transmission derailer. We have demo bikes that get ridden every day and after every ride they get pressure washed. I use an air compressor to dry it off. We use permatex dielectric grease on the pogo pins. And slick honey grease on the cage spring. Since doing that on eleven bikes with the GX group set I haven’t had to replace a GX transmission detailer because of that issue. I will say we have had plenty of bikes be returned or we’ve had to warranty the derailer because it’s damaged in the box from shipping the bike out. I’ve had to replace so many of the metal derailer mounts because they get bent pretty easily. That being said transmission is probably the best shifting drivetrain I’ve ever experienced. Also, sram saying you can no lift shift with these and just pedal consistently and shift that’s false. It is much stronger than a regular drivetrain, but you can bend the cassette on an ebike pretty easy. I’ve messed up a GX transmission cassette on one of our demo bikes riding in boost and no lift shifting.
