People would riot in the streets if they put any price at all on an ambulance ride here in Europe. I know you Americans don't have universal healthcare and stuff because of freedom or something. @brunohonedeya13563 жыл бұрын
@@2009heyhow Yeah, it's really weird. Even here in Brazil, where we have a lot of problems with corruption, we still have free healthcare. I remember going to the hospital to remove my appendix and I didn't pay one cent (of course we pay more taxes, but not even close to the amount I would pay for a private surgery) for the surgery. It really is strange how a place like the US, which is considered "First World", still doesn't have free healthcare.

@@brunohonedeya1356 Yup, paying a bit more taxes then the average American doesn't kill us. But not being able to pay for treatment can. I’m not saying the Canadian system is perfect, far from it in fact, but most of the stuff you hear about the “horrors” of the Canadian system are either straight up lies or such a distortion of some small element of truth that they might as well be lies.

in Quebec my grand-father waited for 24 hours in ER for a foot infection last year, toe got necrosed, had to get it amputated a week later many people just drive 1 hour or so to the closest hospital in Ontario instead of waiting tbh

My condolences about Sophie! We had to put our 9 year old Golden to sleep just last week because of health complications. It fucking sucks, but hey at least she’s in a better place now without pain or suffering. Hopefully you get to see Sophie again before she passes. It’s a special situation to be by your dogs side when they pass. I remember the silence when she stopped breathing. It was the loudest and most heartwrenching silence I’ve ever heard in my life. But I’m still glad I was there for her. That’s my sad story I guess lol

Yes, certainly better to be dead than in the captivity of another species, with zero autonomy over its life. A sad existence indeed.

@@calyokayu2320 perhaps you should use your brain for a change and ponder the idea. Domestication is a pathetic existence for any species. How about a thought experiment: humans domesticated by aliens? Consider the implications of Stockholm syndrome as well. I guess dogs are just too stupid to care about their personal autonomy, and so long as we derive pleasure from their ownership, what does it matter?
@mouseyintheapocalypse3 жыл бұрын
@@BrownOpsLeak All dogs and most pets we own today have been extremely modified. They have been selectively bred for the purpose to co habit with humans. Dogs have been bred to be friendly and live with a person, if you would set a dog free in the wild, most of them wouldn’t make it. You could argue the morality of crippling a species in this way, but then again you cannot undo all of the modifying that has been done over centuries. Maybe dogs do lack the intellectual capacity to care about their captivity. They enjoy it at this point, as long as they receive proper care. Is that really awful? If they don’t care, can’t care then does it matter? They live a good life with others, get to socialize, exercise, get vet care, food, enrichment activities. And the person taking care of them gets a companion. Sure, not all human-animal relationships are like this, but instead of addressing all the relationships as a whole, change only the inadequate ones.
