I am in my 60s and just discovered fountain pens two months ago. They are such a part of my life that I feel as if I have been using them for decades.

Superb! Chuckles. Here's the thing: Scans were done on peoples brains when they were using a keyboard and writing by hand. The scans showed that the creative parts of the brain were more active when hand writing. Cheers!

Perfect - absolutely perfect! It’s your special style of talking about fountain pens which makes your channel unique among all the fountain pen channels on KZbin. Not the same old same old but thoughtful content. This really resonated with me. I’m glad you’re back and giving us more of your fountain pen wisdom.

The pleasure of moving a smooth wet nib over paper keeps me wanting to write and write. Before I realise it I have written pages in my A4 journal even when I've had nothing urgent to say. Thanks for the giggles.

They are ingrained in me. When you got to 5th grade you were taught cursive. And you used a fountain pen. I think this was before cartridges because everyone kept their bottle of ink over on the widow cabinet. You walked over there with your pen and filled it up. I used a fountain pen all through high school. Of course that was many years ago. I will love fountain pens till the day I die, and into my next life!!!!!!! greetings from USA

I have completely forgotten about fountain pens from 5th grade up till a couple of years ago. Glad I rediscovered them.Thanks for sharing Kathy!

I recently bought my first fountain pen. I'm in love. I want to write and write and write. It has never occured to me like this before. Such a wonderful feeling to put down what you feel and think on the paper. Pure magic. I haven't yet realized the difference and do I really have to? I couldn't care less why, as long as I love it.

SO TRUE!! Why I write with a fountain pen in a Leuchtturm? I can write the same words way way way way cheaper. So why? You said it: Because it's fun!

Fountain pens just so beautiful. Good writing paper. Beautiful cards. Different coloured Sealing wax. Sealing Stamps with pretty patterns. A nice desk in the window. Quality. I love it all. I love to put my cards in a box add packets of perfumed sachets and when I give a card it smells so beautiful. A comfortable writing chair with my desk lamp and fresh flowers. I am in heaven.

I am new to fountain pen use here. Thanks for your content. I am seeing a solid need for a return to using and improving penmanship if for no other reason than writing cursive is considered a secret code to most under about 30 years old

Thanks for expressing on a single video what I am supposed to think about everyone who asks (in a negative manner) about my hobbies. The struggle is real! Some people seem to lack the appreciation about different stuff by not wrapping their minds around the fact that each have their reasons to live a fulfilling life. This is the Playstation and McDonalds world we live in and who isn't part of it is the strange person in the room.

I have fallen in love with fountain pens. I started with the PILOT disposable V pen F. Then I did not want to waste and got a Dryden but realized the medium nib was too thick for my ruled paper. I then got a Beiluner fine tip and a bottle of ink and now am hooked. I can't wait to go through this bottle of ink so I can buy some dark green to try out. I went down a rabbit hole of pen collectors and the fountain pens are so alluring.

Fountain pens. They're a live medium of expression - like painting, or music. They're evocative of what we learn from our forebears in literature and poetry. Just bloody wonderful, really.

I am really disappointed in myself that I destroyed my first ever camlin fountain pen ( 16 years ago ) purposefully. Bcz I got a green one and I hate green , secondly I am too bored the fact that pen is not too good . And then my brother gave my the exact pen in black color , at that time I was almost in love with the fountain pens , and I regret about green pen ,, and I literally used the black pen till 2019 until it started leaking from the nib , I still kep it though

I'm getting paid today and I'm so tempted to buy a Lamy. What do you recommend, like about nib size etc?
@onepenshow4 жыл бұрын
I love my Lamy. Nib size is really personal, so it depends on your handwriting. I only bought Fine and Medium nibs for my first few fountain pens, you can't really go wrong with those. If your handwriting is small, I suggest you try a Fine or Extra Fine (Lamy nibs are pretty broad).
@onepenshow4 жыл бұрын
and if you don't like your Lamy nib, you can swap out the nib later on for less than $10!

I use fountain pens to DRAW, SKETCH, make ART!!!!!! That is why! I don’t really write with them at all.
@johnlopez39964 жыл бұрын
Why do I use fountain pens? I do not have to worry about taking a disposable ball point pen and throwing it in a landfill after all of the ink is gone. Fountain pens last for years and can be passed down to future generations. Fountains serve to protect and preserve the analog soul that we are want to maintain. Every stroke on a paper is a true representation of ourselves. No computer font or program can replicate that tactile feeling.

What brand are the black notebooks? Terrific video, thank you. I’m a scientist and here’s an experiment: get DNA samples from a well attended pen show and look for “the FP gene” ... if there is one, just a thought. Many stamp collectors say there is indeed a collecting gene and more specifically a stamp collecting gene. In the end, what ever the reason, I just like fountain pens and think they are an almost ideal tool! Write on dude.

Those are Leuchtturm 1917, which use better paper than Moleskine (but less than Rhodia). I like them. Great details like pagination.
