I use the Yamaha mg10xu at my receptions. I am currently looking into switching to the QSC touch mix 8.

Added a QSC Touchmix 8 to my wedding rig last year and do not regret it. Great video. Thanks for sharing!

It's so clutch right! The other thing that is great is having this makes it so easy to connect live musicians and mix them appropriately. I recently had the parents of the bride perform the couples first dance. They were so pleased to see some real pro audio for their performance. Any other specifics you'd be interested in me covering on the Touchmix as it relates to DJ work? Also, be sure to check out my video on the case I made for mine: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWLGdZWujd9nmrc Thanks for watching!

@@djkanoya hello, AB here from South Texas. I used this External Mixer for the first time last week at an event. I’m new to this mixer. I’d like to learn or hear more about this integration between this. QSC mixer and our DJ controllers.
@djkanoya3 жыл бұрын
@@DJA_B It's great to be able to accommodate more inputs, when needed. Certainly a controller is pretty limited. I think I mentioned in the video, but it was really key when I had to support a duo performance for a first dance. Two mics and two instruments, each needing tweaking, reverb etc. What type of event did you use it at?

I also have the Touchmix 8 as my Wedding DJ audio mixer. The parametric EQ on my mics is critical, compression is a bonus. Control over my outputs is huge. I have saved scenes for full range speaker events, weddings with tops/subs, etc. I use an Aux for my subs so that I can control their output. Dinner music vs. Dance music is the obvious example. I find the built in recording to be a little clunky (compared to the X32 mixer) but having the ability to record ceremonies / toasts is super valuable. Thanks!
@djkanoya4 жыл бұрын
That's great ... I too have a few scenes saved. Do you have more than one ... one for ceremonies and the other for receptions?
@ScottParrWeddings4 жыл бұрын
One for ceremonies, one for two speakers full range, one for 'with a sub'. I use the High/Low pass filters for the crossovers. With ceremony which is basically the full range set up, all 4 Aux are a mono post-fader of the LR. Mostly using 1 speaker for a ceremony I can then use Aux 1 which is a mono version of my main mix. Same with Aux 2, 3 or 4 (which also helps send to any record that might be happening... videographer, Zoom, etc.)

Thanks for showing the possibilities that one can encounter when doing a Dj set and the solutions of using a digital mixer to facilitate all the needs for performers and videographers. I’m going to be using a Behringer X 32 rack digital mixer. Like to see more vids

You should reverse your inputs for the mixer and put the left output on the left side and the right output on the right side you got on the other way around.

@oldschooldjernie4 жыл бұрын
very nice, I used to use a Mackie 14o2VLZ and went back to a dj mixer with 3 mic inputs---the american audio 19MXR which has reverb for 2 of the mics. Its good for karaoke use as well. At one wedding 3 years ago at the end of the night, I saw all this sh*t I had to pack up and decided, screw it---I'm bring the least amount of gear.
@djkanoya4 жыл бұрын
Ha! It's nice when a mixer can accommodate those extra inputs, but they usually are still limited in outputs, that's where something like the Mackie and other live mixers get the +1.

I'm pretty new to this- Does the Touchmix replace the need for a driverack?
@djkanoya2 жыл бұрын
While there is some overlap, they really do have different purposes. What is your end goal?
@Ziggy_v22 жыл бұрын
@@djkanoya thanks for your feedback- I mainly using for DJ'n. I don't like the Harsh sound of the mids on my QSC K12.2s. I'm constantly adjusting the built in parametric EQ on the speakers - but no matter how much EQ'n I still can't get them to sound clean and crisp when I run them loud. I've been told a driverack may help - but I think the QSC touchmix may be a better solution.
@djkanoya2 жыл бұрын
@@Ziggy_v2 @P V I do not have experience with a Driverack, but my assumption is a digital mixer would give you more options to tweak your sound, as well as a whole host of other features that a Driverack cannot.

@@djkanoya thank you - I'm thinking a Touchmix will be a good option for me. 👍
