I've used thermo since before Orcon existed...... Ok, since Windows 95. 😁 My seams are better because of just what you explained. It stops or reduces peaking. I've also, never purchased glue sticks from Orcon or any other flooring tool companies. I've simply bought Stanley, Arrow or just any clear glue sticks. I don't install much anymore, but I agree with pretty much all you covered in this video. I'm actually happy that most guys don't use seam sealer of any kind. When I restretch their carpet jobs, it's easier to cut the seams apart. 😁 .....and at some point, I WILL restretch these guys carpet jobs, because they can't stretch correctly either. 😣

@@DR-um2bv Yup, and you don't want an actual bead of adhesive. Just a very thin film. If you use too much, when the glue is reactivated during the seaming process it can move upwards into the carpet pile. A with a100 watt gun or one with an adjustable thermostat, the tip gets hot enough to shrivel up or melt away those loose and annoying primary backing fibers. You won't have to trim them off anymore with shears.

1. Love the videos...2. Question I rescue macaws and I have to choose hlue,,sprays or tapes that are safe..safe being can a baby be around the product which by default is macaw safe,,,what sealant brand and product form would you recomend ie tape glue spray keep in mind i cannot seal the particle board due to toxins so i sand smooth,,,its a thinker

@@FloorsbySouthernboys they need baby safe adhesive options, so that it's safe for his rescue animals. I recommend searching for "water-based" adhesives, and from there do your due diligence. If your birds are known to eat the fabrics where you are looking to place the adhesive, perhaps fasteners will work better. Think small staple hammers or staple guns to hold the fabrics down rather than a cement or glue .
