Why I've Just Spent Over £1,000 on DJI Cameras & Mics

I got DJI Action 5 Pro with Mic Mini few days ago for my Channel too. It is so frustrating that Action 5 has worse video than Action 4 and GoPro because of their HDR processing that they force. It looks so fake and unnatural. IT's all because they want to "increase" the dynamic range. I hope they will fix it in firmware. Nice video!

I've only done a few camera tests with the 5 pro so far, but am going on a short break soon and planning on taking it there. There's 10Bit normal, hlog and dlog m. I saw many comparisons on KZbin that showed the 4 looking better than the 5 pro, but I'm not sure if that's because at launch the camera only had standard bitrate recording, not high bitrate. I'm trying to reserve judgement until I've used it more, but it does seem like DJI overcompensates the image so it looks better out of the box than GoPro. Which is why it sometimes looks fake. 👍

@@KevinMuldoon Yes...the bitrate was low because they wanted an even longer battery life. But as you know they added an option for higher bitrate via firmware. It's the same for all color profiles with this aggressive HDR lool. Even if i use the D- log and apply the basic luts you can see how unnatural it looks. And also the red and pink colors are really bad. When all payed and sponsored KZbinrs posted the footage i could not belive how bat it was and why nobody is talking about it. I just don't want to have an option to turn off the things that make the footage worse like this HDR processing. And also they should lets us use more negative sharpnes and noise reduction to..right now it goes only to -2 two but it is still too much. Cheers, and have fun on your trip.

@ayamotoadventures I recorded with dlog m colour profile and I just couldn't get it looking right. From what I read, it is a terrible option as it isn't technically a dlog (I'm not an expert on colour grading though). I'll either stick to normal or hlog.

Apologies. I had to take a call and it posted that message early. Yes the issue with sponsored videos is not ideal. That's the reason I wanted to stress at the start of the video that I wasn't sponsored and I spent my own money (as I knew people would make that accusation). I don't like the fact many of those sponsored videos did not point out that issue. It's something that action 4 users noticed right away.
