Working on the road and being away a lot, just how? Coming from someone not doing anything you're doing and always in the same location I have like one actual friend. 😅 I think you nailed the roadlife question. Thanks! I’d say 95% of my friends on the road are either photographers I’ve met through instagram, or are road lifers themselves. Then those friends introduced me to others, and the network just grows organically now!

I'm also a software engineer working remotely, and i've been travelling around the US for 6months now with also a gx470. I found living full time in my gx and managing all the water, food, electricity, internet, etc might be a bit too challenging for me. Cuz my work is relatively busy and I feel like i dont have the extra energy to manage all these resources after a long workday. I ended up occationally live in the gx for maximum 5 or 6 days, but mostly i will look for short-term monthly stay at different locations. and just head out to the wild during weekends. I always wanted to push myself a bit and try living in the gx full time for maybe a couple weeks, hopefully I would do that in the next year!

It definitely takes getting used to. Living out of a suitcase overseas was 10x harder than on the road, and I’ve been remote for a total of 5 years now. Definitely helped with this lifestyle

You did a walkthrough of your GX a little while ago, but in this video you have pelican cases mounted to the rear windows. Can you tell me about them... How you mounted them (if you purchased the kit) and any information about them. I had a fully kitted FJ that I sold when I moved out of the country and now that I'm back I've begun outfitting my GX and love seeing new ideas for different builds.
