Totally understand why you picked Gobi. Solid rack. I prefer the look of the CNC style racks and was really concerned with water intrusion so I went with Sherpa. Still waiting for it to arrive but I can’t wait.

I love that wrap. So sick. Still loving the rack? I think my favorite part about it is the powder coated steel making it stronger than aluminum competition and I really love the mesh top so you can walk around on top.

I still love the rack, no complaints, I would do it again. Only bad part was the lead time. If you’re patient. It’s a great rack and will hold its value.

Nice rig! I was looking at the Gobi, but the 9 month wait was a little too long, I wouldn’t have received it until July/August timeframe and want to get out in the spring. I went with the Sherpa instead and happy with it.

Great video, im on the fence of getting a Gobi, im turned off by the super high cost of their accessories, like themounting accessories for shovels, awnings etc. Theyre like in the 100's of dollars. What is your take on that?

You’re absolutely right. Everything they have is super pricey. But to their defense the parts are really solid. I rolled my previous 5th gen and my roof rack took a good amount of the impact and my roof wasn’t smashed in when the roll finally stopped. I was quite impressed and blessed to survive it. But yes, very expensive parts.

Nice video. How do you feel about wind noise? When I get roof basket mounted, it was almost impossible to sunroof getting tilted due to the wind noise. I would expect that MPG will drop like 1 or 2.

I don’t have much wind noise tbh. The wind flaring does a good job. Mpg dropped about 1 after rack.

Great looking truck and rack. Newbie question. How do you wash the roof of the truck after you install a rack like this?

Never a noob question. Since the rtt covers the roof you don’t really get bird poo, saps, or anything sun baked on the roof. Most times I just rinse it well and use a big drying towel to absorb as much water in the places I can get to. That’s also one of the reasons why I wrapped my roof before placing the RTT.

Thanks for the love! I've actually owned two of these Gobi rack/ladders before and with ANY additional weight to the trunk, it will start to sag after 2-3 yrs. It costs $60 to replace new from amazon (10min install). If you live in the cold, it the struts will give even sooner.

Gobi wait is too long, anything over 3-4 months they should not even be taking orders; at least they don't charge until it's ready but even then I've heard people get double charged or charged and it didn't ship for a month or so after. I ordered a Gamiviti rack last week with shipment estimate in 4 weeks. Same construction method, quality and actual customer service that is responsive. Tim at Gamiviti has been great to deal with.

Yes its long but worth the wait imo. Most of the top branded items currently have long lead times like gobi and kings for example. The reason is there is a high demand for them. Resale value will hold. I haven't heard of Gamiviti before and google only shows 2 rating, are they new? Would love to hear your feedback when your receive yours. Goodluck!

I saw this video a while back, and debated getting one but now im about to pull the trigger on the gobi stealth. May i ask, what is the reason the ladder messes with the shocks?

It doesn't really "mess" up the struts/shocks, its more of just the added weight that the struts/shocks cannot handle over time.

I had a bit of wind noise up whenever I opened the sunroof. It wasn’t until I installed a lightbar, that has helped with the wind noise

It’s weight 70lbs and caught your struts to go out? How did the ikamper which is 160lbw something do to your struts?

The ladder only weights 20lbs. Any additional weight to the trunk will put stress on the struts over time. Especially in cold weather the strut components will harden and not hold weight well.
