My daughter just celebrated her birthday on Saturday. We didn’t do anything too extravagant, just cake and play time with friends. Even though we didn’t do anything fancy she felt SO special. I can’t imagine childhood without that day to be celebrated and feel loved. I’m sorry you didn’t have that opportunity as a child. I’m glad you have your girls to celebrate.

I'm so glad I found your channel, you speak my language. I consider myself pagan and connected to Earthy type beliefs and values. I naturally seemed to reject the 'plastic' world from a very early age - maybe growing up in Africa helped define values of human soul and a rejection of the true evil of monetary pursuit, control and materialistic gain. Freedom was the one word that drove and guided me. I don't profess to understand too much of the GOD questions especially the ones invented by man, though I very much doubt a loving God would rule by selective fear, and if pushed I'll say then that God is all love. There's a lot of fear and control in JW though isn't there? Who exactly are the chosan ones?

Liz Taylor threw Michael Jackson his first birthday party because he was raised Jehovah's witness and it is interesting to hear his account, because he was talking about how he felt both happy and guilty about it. it is a sweet clip. Also pagan cultures are quite beautiful actually. Nobody can separate Christianity from the old faiths of the ancient world that helped form it. Cakes for the queen of heaven.

@@Lifewithlisa44 Oh pardon, I misremembered. the clip was showing Christmas not his birthday... but yeah he talks about his conflicting emotions about it; kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmKkYYR8qNF-q7M but I also remember there's other clips him saying similar things about his birthday. and later in his life he had huge birthday parties to make up for what he missed out on earlier in life. I saw some on youtube looking for this one. 🙂 I think there was one about his mom's birthday too and how he won't let him give her presents, idk can't find that one. more about his relationship with Jehovah's Witnesses kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4LSZ5tjqp51b7s

The way I look at it, is that life is sacred . It's actually miraculous how a baby grows inside the mother from conception to fully formed . It's a gift from God. Celebrating a birthday is a way to honor this. So, the custom of ignoring birthdays doesn't make sense to me, I don't see anything Godly about it. Actually someone recently suggested that not celebrating birthdays or Christmas could be a way to keep separated from other people. That could be really the reason ..!

I have never at all have heard such spoken by a JW that birthdays were evil, only that an example in the bible is given of a birthday celebration .... the following is from Matthew 14:8 New Century Version (NCV) Herodias told her daughter what to ask for (her birthday), so she said to Herod, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.” and guess what, she had received such! The JW's believe it is better not to make a day in which one places themselves on high and is expecting of gifts and celebration onto themselves.

Hello, Your video was very interesting. Birthdays are no more "pagan" than using "J" for Jehovah.. since "J" is from the pagan Latin language or learning to read and write are from pagan philosophers. Since a Birthday is the celebrating of the Gift of life from G0D, a birthday is thanking God for Blessings and Life. Jesus states.. " I have come to set the captives free" , Your Birthday is a day to rejoice for on that day, the world was made a better place!!

I heard it was because they didn't want members to have attention put on themselves. 😢 However, for the other 364 days, the JWs can and do put attention on themselves 😅 Yoga as a root word means to yoke, join, or unite. English is originally an Indo-European language. 😊

Not forbidden in the Bible , the few Birtday's wich are notice are not representive for the thousends wich are nice , also Abraham visit all his children and grandchildren each one on his or her day , the " day " is no other possibliity then the born day each year. ( I was JW from born in 1962 until 1992 )

Your claims that Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays because they believe they come from evil pagan roots is not true. The Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays because they don't want to be worshiping themselves. Please get your facts togehter before uploading slanderous videos! Have a nice day!
