Very well done video! Code vein got slept on by so many even within the Fromsoft community. It's a gem!

Couldn't agree more! I understand that a lot of people are averse to trying out anime games just out of spite I guess, but I think it's a shame. Code vein, so far, has been a delight for the most part.

I really love this game! For me, the thing that makes it a lot more playable than souls titles is that the leveling and gearing system is so streamlined. You basically just choose your blood veil and weapon and you’re done. But you can still do a LOT of customization with the Gift and Blood Code systems so the game isn’t putting you in a box, just not forcing you to make a spreadsheet of gear stats. Plus, I think it really has a unique identity among soulslike games - it’s certainly not a clone. It’s visually beautiful and the setting is really cool and compelling. I recommend it to everyone!

This was my first soulslike game ever, and when i first got it, it was rough. But after a while, I picked it up again and wow, it has become one of my favourite souls-like and maybe one of my favourite games ever.

Did you play any other soulslikes in between your first time trying code vein and the time after where you really enjoyed it? I've tried every Fromsoft game since dark souls except for sekiro, and I've yet to complete any of them. To be fair, the one I've had the most fun with of that bunch has been Elden Ring so far.

Great game. Picked it up recently on sale and best 10 bucks i've spent in awhile. Something i didnt figure out til VERY late game- the Awake items can be used to master gifts instantly from within the acquire gifts menu Y on xbox controller.
@TuffPandaGaming Жыл бұрын
Yes! A really great price for a game as fun as this one. And yeah, I had no idea what those did until I noticed the little "master" button when hovering over some skills and I tried it out and saw that it would consume X amount of those awake items. Definitely could've been explained in a tutorial or something >.

I bought it a few years ago on PlayStation and started it but ended up deleting to make space. Over the weekend it was on a deep sale on Xbox so I bought it digitally (lot more space on my series x) I’ve been playing all weekend and I love it. Need to grab a physical at GameStop. I always see it there

I didn't even know this game existed - until it became one of the monthly free PS Plus games. I didn't even intend to play it - until the PS Stars app monthly reward offered 50 points (which you can build up and trade for PS Store credit) just for starting the game. After only starting it, I still didn't really intend to play it - but I would look at my trophy list and see this game on it with zero trophies. So, I decided to, actually, try the game out - and I LOVE it! I've only got as far as beating the first boss, but I will be playing this one to the end!!!!! 😃

I found out that many of junk souls (code vein, mortal shell, technomancer, lords of the fallen, steel rising) are way more approachable for newcomers. Glad that more ppl got into genre. Btw, if leaks are somewhat true, code vein 2 gonna come out in q4 2023, or at least get announced.
@TuffPandaGaming Жыл бұрын
Oh cool I didn't know about the leaks (if they're true)! Hopefully we get some news soon! As far as approachability goes, I haven't played any of those other ones so I can't say, but definitely code vein with the whole AI partner makes it a lot easier as compared to dark souls for example. I've always really liked the souls games and think they're great, I just haven't beaten any cause I get stumped on a boss or a location and lose steam lol.

Code vein was so fun, but the DLCs were ass. It's more fast paced and the stats are based on your classes and level just basically increases all your stats across the board. But the DLC codes are kinda cool. Oh ya just press start and you can skip the vestige scenes, you should play it with a friend sometime too :^)

I really enjoyed Code Vein even though it borrows a bit too much from Fromsoftware games. The Bloodcode Mechanic was great and offers crazy replayability. However I really didn't enjoy the occasional "Invasions". They felt cheap, were just annoying and didn't add anything to the game gameplay wise.

I know exactly what you mean. The invasions were just insane difficulty spikes that feel very forced for no reason.

Also one thing you need to come in terms with is that every companion sucks (even Yakumo) so don't listen to the people saying that having a companion makes this game easier than other soulslikes
@Vamroc Жыл бұрын
The deeper you get the more grindy it becomes which isn't bad AT FIRST but when you need basic materials they becomes more scarce as game the progresses so you find yourself going back to previous locations mining cannon fodder and you earn currency by attacking enemies but that currency drops significantly as you gain levels that's annoying AF because of how much work you put into beating some of those real BITCH enemies in the first place
