The condition in 1962 was that much bad that ammunition was very less that it got finished very quickly and they were left with empty guns . Then they were issued with swords and sticks to fight with the Chinese soldiers who were continuously firing bullets .

Had I been in command of the Indian platoons, I'd have avoided Close Quarter Battles(CQB) as the Pla were issued with ak47 clone. I'd have ordered the men to peel back and engage the enemy from 700 yards and beyond. The Lee Enfield .303 that the Indian jawans packed would have been a perfect weapon for long range kill shots. The gun is a Designated Marksmen's Delight. Norinco's AKs lost accuracy at 500 yards and beyond. The full auto feature would have only worsened the inaccuracy. Anyway, Respect to all the Braveheart sons of the soil who fought in the war. The war was lost on the political front. Had Nehru Ji been more of a man, the end result might have been quite different.
