Thanks Aditya. You will not get this information in any text book. Even many Transportation Professionals do not know the background of this culture in different countries. Please share it with your friends.

Very Interesting to know these facts, every one should know, the decision for position of steering wheel is really very scientific depending upon the drive side. Thankyou sir for enlightening us...regards

Sir, thank you very much. I'm attempting to contact you regarding one of your papers titled "Effect of Traffic Composition on Capacity of Multilane Highways." I'm having trouble with the graphs and their values. Is there any way for me to contact you?

FYI #USVirginIslands, despite being part of the #US and mainly uses LHD (Left-Hand Drive) vehicles, still drives on the left (i.e. uses LHT - Left-Hand Traffic) like #India and when it was a Dutch colony. Also, Gibraltar, which is part of the #UK, drives on the right and uses LHD vehicles like the rest of continental #EU as it has a land border with Spain, a continental Americas-Afro-Eurasian country. P.S. IMO as a continental Americas-Afro-Eurasian country, #India should gradually switch to driving on the right for a variety of reasons regardless of cost. One is to standardize driving side across every land border in every land-joined country directly (e.g. BBIN member states, Myanmar, #Pakistan, etc.) and indirectly (e.g. #Canada (Hans Island land border with #Denmark included), #Egypt, #EU (including #Denmark, #France, etc.), 🇮🇷, #Israel, #Korea, #Lebanon, 🇷🇺, #SaudiArabia, #Türkiye, #UAE, #Ukraine, #US, etc.) land-linked to #India with the least number of resources and time. Two is to provision future enhanced links with #India's friendly, partner, and ally land-linked nations especially potentially providing enhanced east-west land links from as far as #VietNam to as far as the #EU and Africa via #India, a new northeast-southwest link between #Korea and #India after #CCPChina regime either stops being hostile to #India (depending on their interests and agenda, most likely would be temporarily, least likely is permanently) or is replaced with a new non-hostile government, and a new north-south link via #Pakistan (or new countries split from #Pakistan) and #Afghanistan. Drivers would then easily only need one vehicle with no additional assistance required to easily interact with toll booths, gate column controls, drive-thrus, etc. Three is to cast away LHT reasons centered around medieval battles and violence, and legacy British colonial mindsets. Four is provisioning resiliencies around the #LAC regions so regardless of #LAC situation, driving side would remain the same and #LAC residents only need to have LHD vehicles no matter what happens to the border. One strategy for #India to switch to RHT (Right-Hand Traffic) is first beginning with legalizing new LHD vehicles for domestic road use. Then highways be equipped with new signage and road markings since highways intersections are typically designed differently from local intersections including roundabouts and traffic circles. Finally, local roads would make the switch to RHT. Some local roads would be made one-way for any reason including improving capacity without widening roadway and easily phasing in RHT. Another strategy is first legalizing LHD vehicles then local roads be slowly transitioned to either one-way or RHT and finally highways be equipped with new signages and markings for RHT.
