Mujhe lagta hai ki ek kota rakhna chahiye. Ki 11 mese 8 full citizens of Indian hona chahiye aur baaki 3 Overseas citizens ho yaa full indian, dono chal jaayenga.... jaise I-League yafir ISL mai hota hai. Reserve mai jitna bhi ho, playing 11 mai wo hi ratio regeha chahiye.

You can have a limit of 20-50% players max being of indian origin (PIO or OCI) that will give other players experience, marketing, popularity and hope for future. Otherwise we will be waiting 10+ years just to get to world cup. For example Australia allows foreign players of Australian origin and yet still majority of Australia side is playing in Australia local league.

The government is right in this matter. I will give an example of what happens on the ground-level. Suppose you are part of your college football team and when a tournament comes up, the coach brings their handpicked players from somewhere (not from your college, not even from your university, most probably state/national level experienced players), they quickly get a letter signed by the college officials saying that 'These players are students of our college' and using that, they let them play in the tournament. 😌 Yes, vo players bohot badiya honge, aapko tournament jita bhi denge, lekin kaam to sahi nahi he na. Just because others do things a certain way doesn't mean we should do the same, and it definitely doesn't mean that it is the right way to go about it.

Bro - how much money do you think clubs invest in Brazil for grassroots development ? I think it would be lesser than even India - yet they product World Class players. Grassroot development will automatically happen if India qualify for world cup (with these Indian origin players). When Bangladesh, Pakistan and even Afghanistan allow their origin players - I see no reason why India shouldn't play 50% OCI players.
