The business model of Zara might be very profitable, but it is absolutely detrimental to the planet and the youth's behaviour. To me, it exposes the darkest side of capitalism. Creating so many clothes in so little time and then rejecting them is extremely bad for the environment. Also, it promotes unnecessary buying habits among people. There is no actual or real need of upgrading a perfectly good fashion style in a few years, but this company adversely affects buyer psychology. Now people might respect this company and be fans, but ultimately, companies like this will do the most harm in the long run.

It’s not that Zara never offers discount. I live abroad and we always have discounts even in Zara. Yes, I have friends in other countries and I know few continents are exception like Europe and Asia but North American markets, there is discounts yet Zara is considered as luxury brand. And H&M is nowhere near Zara (in terms of luxury, as it is considered relatively cheaper brand) Atleast in North American market. H&M is over hyped in Asian market.

Example includes, like, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, yessaintlauren, Burberry ,Chanel,Gucci,Versace, Dior, etc. Zara can’t be labelled as luxury and in no way as same level as those brands mentioned earlier.

I lived in Spain for 9 months. The first question I asked one Spanish friend of mine 'Is Zara a luxury brand?'. She then took me to Louis Vuitton and then to Zara. Louis Vuitton was super-expensive but Zara was super cheap. India mei log Zara pehen kar dikhate hai dekho mere paas crororon rupay hai. Ek dost se milne gaya tha Spain se aane ke baad. Aur woh Zara ka coat pehen kar aayi thi and I told her ki Zara is super cheap and a fast fashion brand hai. Aur kabhi woh milne nahi aayi uske baad. 🤣

Frankly, Zara is not expensive if considered the quality and style it sells. Note this is considering European market prices, for Indian market even H&M prices are high. And for me H&M is really bad quality and not so stylish clothing.

I have a shirt, purse, boots and dress from Zara, and have decided not to buy anything again from Zara. I am an Indian in my 30s, living in a metro city and am interested in maintaining a classy and stylish wardrobe, with clothes of all kinds. Myntra launches similar dresses as Zara in a few months at 1/4th the price. The quality being even better or equal. Zara's quality most of the time is nothing very great when it comes to the fast fashion trends. For classics, I think their stuff is good quality, for example, blazers, jeans and boots. Analysis in this video is spot on!
