Bit twice by a brown recluse this summer. The bite was painless the knot later the size of a softball that was the result was NOT. My father was raised on the "crick". He had built up an immunity to mosquito bites from being bit so often as a child. You could watch the mosquito bite him and there was never even a red spot or a bump when he was gone.

The same is true for being with those who weep. We just can’t be happy to see others weep. For example, when we are with someone who has lost a loved one, we weep with them.

Only pitching in because I studied Russian history, the beard tax was during a time where Russia idolized the West for its culture and technology. Peasants were associated with beards, and the elites (who wanted to westernize) wanted to separate their new society on the opposite of any stereotypical peasant look. About emotional response to situations....I have often experienced an acute emotional response for people I don't really know who are going through difficult times. I have come to believe that the Lord has gifted me with the ability to share their pain and help diffuse it so they can focus on the future of God's plan. This may be similar to this discussion. I am from Louisiana. My Cajun Grandpa taught me to have a bottle of rubbing alcohol with a bottle of baby aspirin dissolved in it. When you get bit by fire ants, pour that alcohol over where you got bit. You won't blister from fire ants. I once stepped in a mound of them. I hollered for my daughter to get the alcohol. I poured it on my feet and legs. It didn't blister or itch. Plus since it was near the bottom of the bottle, it got rid of all the callouses on my feet.

Fire Ant bites...we use essential oil of lavender to treat the bite, works great! Also on the question - Why Jesus cried? He was moved with compassion. In other words, His HEART was connected to their HEART. His heart was moved to tears because their heart was so extremely sad, this is empathy.

I got stung 32 times by those ground wasps after accidentally disturbing the nest with a blower under my deck. I was stripping my clothes off on the way running back to the house, so i'm glad the neighbors aren't close enough to see lol. It made me sick for a couple days. Those are aggressive little things. I did end up killing them all though, later that week.

I got a brown recluse bite and I felt it when it happened and it did the same thing. It burnt a hole in my hand and took a month to heal. I was feeding my horses in Indiana after two weeks of rain and it zapped me from a fence. It was like a burn.

I was raised in the woods. I dont attract bugs like that, either. I don't use any kind of flowery or fruity scents. Also, people that eat alot of sugar and processed foods tend to attract bugs more. Clean diets help.

If you're not alergic to the bee veneom you only get sick at best. My Pop was stung sweepin leaves off his little porch outside the woods. Stired a wasp nest. One sting to artery on temple. He couldn't get to epi pen. He died before the 911 call was half over. Healthy as a horse at 82 but one sting took him to Glory. I kill wasps at every chancee. He went to Glory 8/12 /12 . God bless Y'all. When Im feeling down I put in my copies of D.D. series. In an hr Im laughin and feeling good. The spiritual power beneath the natural I believe was the overall success of the show.

I HATE WASPS!!! Recently, baby ones, started sneaking up on me, unprovoked and stinging me!!! Gotta use Benedryl and mud packs for a few days to heal...!!! One day, I asked Jesus, why did you even make those??? Then He let me see, a mother, putting a mosquito into the hole of the mud nest it’s baby was in!!! I had to laugh!!! I said, Well, that’s something they are Good for, but I pray you have them eat more of them, cuz there are still too many of those biting me! A lot of the same bugs in Florida too! Blessings

I agree with becoming more resistant to the bugs if you are outside often. I never got bit by ticks when I was raised in the country and was constantly playing and working outside. After living in the suburbs for several years, I go back to the country and get covered every time. My skin is less sun baked and maybe we just smell different now ha ha.

No one is better than the next. John 3:3 we must be BORN again. Jesus often says “Go, and sin no more”. Sinning after repentance is still sin- repent and be done with the world. Pray for me that I may do as I say too.

The best way not to get stung, for the yuppies, is learn not to swat at bees when they fly close. Just let them do what they want, even if they land on you, just stay calm and enjoy the visit. They'll fly away 100٪ of the time on their own.

I find the Robinsons interpretation On the verse of Jesus wept to be interesting. Though I believe that one way to interpret the verse as Jesus weeping because of the pain humans go though of seeing their loved ones pass away due to sin, I find the interpretation of the tears being tears of overwhelming joy to be an interesting possibility.

Regarding Jesus weeping: It's all conjecture as to why He wept, but I have often wondered if the reason was at least 2 fold. Jesus knew everything, which is hard for humans to understand. Jesus knew the breaking hearts of Mary and Martha and Lazarus' friends, but He also knew from where He was calling Lazarus from. Lazarus would have been in a much better place, paradise. Did it grieve Jesus to bring His friend back to this world from that place of paradise? I don't know.

Twice in the scriptures, Jesus is described as being emotionally upset. There is this time in John 11, as you aptly described, when Jesus purposely delayed in order for the glory of God to be displayed, and when He was entering Jerusalem just before He was crucufied. I contend that on both occasions, Jesus wept for the same reason. Many think in the case described in John 11, His tears were in sympathy for Martha and Mary. In the case upon His entry to Jerusalem, He wept because He knew His death was close at hand.

Sorry, fat fingers posted before I was ready. I don't think either was true. I think on both occasions Jesus wept because the people did not understand. After all He had said, after the miracles they had seen, after all the fulfillment of prophecy of which they were fully aware, they still did not understand who He was, what His purpose in earth was, or how different their relationship would become with God for those who wanted to be pleasing to Him. Jesus knew that it was this fact that would cause so many millions and millions of people to be lost to the temptations of the evil one. His utmost desire is for all to be saved and given immortality in heaven. The people in these events demonstrate it will only be a few.
