Depression can make you black out. Idk why more ppl don't realize this. The mind was a clever way of blocking out perceived trauma by allowing you to disassociate. Depression, anxiety, they can both cause dissociation. It's a really wonderful defense mechanism with not so wonderful consequences.
@dumplingsoupss Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have childhood trauma and I've been disassociating since I was small, I've dealt with being neglect, abuse basic necessities not being met, SA from two family members and an ex boyfriend, I have no idea who I am as a 26 year old. I have no idea what to do as far as a career. I'm going to therapy and microdosing for my CPTSD, depression and anxiety. It's really hard being "present" or in the moment because everything is overwhelming. Chaos was constant and now that I'm an adult there's no more chaos. Who am I without the trauma?
@seroquelchamber Жыл бұрын
i have next to no memory of years of my life for this reason, i dont think i'd call any part of it wonderful for me personally. but thats because mine has gone into overdrive. thats the problem, though. for a lot of people disassociation is a killer.
@seroquelchamber Жыл бұрын
hey if you are microdosing without medical supervision i really dont reccomend that, unless you are doing it with your therapist then ignore me. i microdosed for this reason and i had to learn to start over and my memory got even worse, i also became dependent on the microdose for serotonin or dopamine because of my CPTSD. i hope you are doing ok. the only thing thats ever helped me is mindfulness and DBT therapy. I have done it all at 30 years old, they had me on crazy medications and electrocuted me and everything. but its bc i wouldnt do DBT right off the bat because it seemed too easy to deal with my shit. i was wrong lol be careful sorry for the novel @@dumplingsoupss
@Goddess1Gamer Жыл бұрын
@seroquelchamber I understand my mind was trying to save me. It's an incredible thing the brain can do, block out trauma to allow us to go on. It's bitter sweet. In a way I feel there's this other person or unconscious mind inside my body that tried to help me. That's a wonderful thing.

Anna Carlson seriously though. It makes me laugh every time people think I’m extroverted and I’m like “I mean I had fun, I’m just exhausted. It’s been like two hours and 30 people give me a break”
@alynni84 жыл бұрын
George McCrary, II I mean... that seems like a unnecessary gate keeping BS? “Everyone who says they are introverted isn’t”? What are you talking about? Lol I respond because my whole life people have accused me of lying about being introverted simply because I’m not curled up in a corner... I laugh and interact with everyone but one hour of human interaction and I’m so tired after and need to just go lay down and be alone for a while. People need to just worry about themselves and stop trying to tell other people what they are and are not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@LiLzZluvinJ4 жыл бұрын
There’s a lot more ambiverts (people who are a mix of extrovert and introvert) out there and I think a lot of them are more on the introverted side because of how a lot of Western cultures are individualist, so people keep to themselves more. It just tells you how many people like doing their own thing, but still enjoying others.

Right! Like I like people, and I have a friend, but best believe I spend 85% of my time in my cave, tucked away. I also think a lot of people confuse introversion with social anxiety (which I had as a kid, but grew out of by college). But they are not the same.

Truly crazy how introverts often make such great entertainers. Musicians, actors, comedians, singers, performers in general. Me, myself, I love being alone, don’t like or need being around other people, don’t really like talking or being the center of attention at social situations but I live for the feeling of singing in front of people.

People genralise Introvertness as being socially awkward, shy, demure and similar impressions when in fact, being an introvert does mean that yeah, we're anti social. If I'm talking about me, I like talking to people but in the comfort of my bedroom via a phone. 😂 I can go months without talking to my friends, and my relatives constantly complain that I don't respond well to them. i used to be an extrovert but bc they literally punished me at school for being bubbly, as i aged up from 5 to 10 i changed from being a bubbly very spoken out girl to a quiet very stage fright girl. if in pre-k and elementary left me be myself, i wouldn’t be so introverted but now i just like being introverted. when covid hit i wasn’t that impacted since i sleep all day and binge watched a lot of youtube. my brother was hit hard since he is an extrovert. all that i feel like got to me negatively is just getting so nervous and anxious when i speak in front of a group of people or class (i’m taking a class to help me speak up for my last year in HS) but other than that i’m okay. i’m very shy at first and would rather avoid confrontation but if someone else starts speaking to me, i will open up and am very VERY extroverted with friends and people who know me.
