I think 5 years is too much for a project group. Its going to be so much harder to let them go after so long. I think 3 and a half is perfect. Id feel more concern for the older members in the group trying to debut after the project group disbands.

If I*ZONE had that 5 year contract Jan Wonyoung for example the youngest member would be 19 by the time they disband. Also kwon eunbi who is 23 rn would be 28. I think itd be hard trying to debut and start over again at an older age.

So far WJSN is the only group in the clear at the moment, DIA could be in the clear if mbk was consistent and didn’t spend the little profit DIA makes on loans but hey, that’s mbk for you. Pristin already got afterschooled, gugudan went downhill quickly and weki Meki despite being somewhat popular got affected by their company issues. Anyways, overall every member except Somi and nayoung has been doing well on their own, keeping themselves busy, WJSN, DIA, chungha and Sejeong have won on music shows, and stuff.

That’s a great insight, I totally support actually. I know us fans suffer a lot with the idea of disbanding or knowing the fact it’ll happen. Though has hard as it may be to plan these schedules, it’s definitely a treat to not only the fans, but maybe the members themselves. I know ioi would be much harder to do, but it’s not an awful idea for I*Zone, honestly they barely started, they have plenty of time to think about making this come true. I support~

No, Sakura and Nako are important AKB48 members and Hitomi is starting to get much attention between the fans of the group, the way AKB48 works is different than the way kpop works, if Sakura and the rest of the j line take part of both group promotions that would be too much for them, they need to focus only on AKB48 since it's where they came first, but leaving the j line out it would be awesome to see IZ*ONE together forever..

I think that it would be cool to have ioi subgroups promote for a few months with a single or mini album. As for the rumor of IOI reunion, as much as many would be excited about it (not sure about k-fans, but int'l fans would certainly rejoice) i don't think it's reasonable enough to do so, at least for the near future. You made a good point on whether their respective labels would be on the same page regarding the prospect of the reunion. It's doable, but there will be so many things to settle before a reunion would even come to fruition. Also, does CJ saw the reunion as something that's not only realistic, but also profitable enough to pull out? Maybe this rumor was being thrown around to see public/fans reaction, would they be excited, but who knows. Guess we'll have to see what's next, tho tbh i'm not holding my breath on this one.

I'm not surprised they aren't able to make it work. We have to look at the issues and successes that each member(s) face in a situation like this. Members from groups with less success (Weki Meki, DIA, Gugudan) would probably love an opportunity to have a little boost, but they run the risk of having their groups overshadowed by a potential reunion. Given the fact that their companies are trying to keep their names afloat in a sea of old and new girl groups emerging, it would be hard to have key members leave for a time. Then you have the Pristin ticking time bomb, which I doubt Pledis would want to deal with if they released Kyulkyung and Nayoung from the dungeon to go be with IOI, raising questions as to why a girl group which should have found success was so blatantly locked away for no reason. WJSN is finding moderately decent success, but given the fact that they have MIA Chinese members for similar programs, it might not bode well to be missing one of their main singers. Then with Chungha and Somi busy with solo work, it's just not possible. To be fair, I don't know if I'd even want an IOI reunion if we couldn't have everyone, it just wouldn't have the same dynamic. For once, I actually believe the companies when they say they'd like it to happen, but schedules get in the way. They're trying to make a profit, and with so many of the groups not doing well, I can understand why the companies wouldn't want to rock the boat too much.

these produce groups will only cause me Pain, so I tend to only listen to the music AFTER they disbanded. IZ*ONE's probably going to break my heart, since I've been there since their debut. IOI was really such a talented group, and if they didn't disband, they'd probably be one of the top GGs right now!! Lowkey though, them always talking but nothing happening reminds me of me planning things with my friends + that mention of Fake Love hurt bc they talked about disbandment before Fake Love was released. It was entirely possible we never could have gotten another CB from BTS at all, in another world.

I thought I remember I.O.I talking about how they wanted to have a comeback in 2021, five years after they debuted, giving time for each member's respective careers to do their own thing and then come back strong. But maybe it's different now because of the distance between each group's/solo's successes. Chungha, Cosmic Girls, and even DIA, have won music show awards, while Gugudan, Weki Meki, and especially Prisin, have not seen that level of success. As someone who didn't get into I.O.I until literally January 2017, I can't speak on having a huge connection toward them, but I could see their potential and would another chance to experience that in real-time.

I was heartbroken about IOI and UNB. UNB hit me the hardest though, because I watched the unit and saw that everyone one of those idols whether they made it or not gave it their all. A 5 year contract is too much, imagine how they would feel at the end?

I feel so sad that I only got into I.o.i after they disbanded... I never really got to experience the thrill of waiting for a comeback... I really hope that they’ll reunite as a whole, all 11 of them

Do you think IZ*ONE's contract will be extended? If you look at the companies they come from only Starship, Woolim, WM and Stone would technically take them back IF they had a group in the making. But with Yena, unless they're going to make her into a Yeonjung and place her into Everglow after 2 years, I don't think she will be in their group. HKT & AKB members have always worked around their Japanese schedule. Minju and Hyewon are in the same boat as Sohye because they're all in acting agencies. Maybe I'm thinking way too hard about this, it's only because I'll die when they disband

Yeah, I kind of expected the next group to go onto 5 years. I doubt they'll go higher than that though. I really wish more survival shows would do the comeback every other year or something
