Loved my 04 350z. Drove it hard everyday for 8 years and tracked it many times and it never broke down on me. After some suspension mods and brakes/tires/exhaust it completly changed the car and it was a blast on autocross and kept up with some porsches/vettes. As soon as I saw my favorite part of the exterior of the 350Z destroyed... The missing slit dual 4" rolled, round exhaust tips. How anyone could prefer this setup, or any single setup over those beautiful dual cannons gracing the back of these cars is beyond me? I wouldn't care if it saved 100 pounds and gained 50 HP going this route. True dual or not, the split duals just look so much better. A Stillen or Fast Intensions true dual cat-back would look sick on this Z! Everything else is awesome here. Only, I'd add a factory rear lip spoiler and paint and/ or upgrade the brake calipers. I won't dislike the video because I can appreciate a modded car by someone with different taste than myself. Thanks for the video.

Great review, Joe. you got me thinking now. My only concern is finding a used model in as great a shape as this one is. The one thing thats for sure, is people who buy sports cars drive them like a sports car, meaning they are red lining or near red lining the tach most of the time, to be able to enjoy the thrill of having a sports car. But thats where a professional would be worth the money to have one thoroughly checked out. Providing the seller will permit. Besides the upgrade in brakes, a turbo would be nice on this ride.

Great cars, I'm saving to upgrade to either a 370 Nismo, or wait a few years and try and buy the new Z that's coming out, after the price comes down a bit, but i hear the base model is starting somewhere around $30 grand, which is super cheap for a brand new 400 stock Horsepower sports car.

People have no idea how fast this car can be. First, the 350 and the 370 are not dig cars. They are shitty for dig races but these cars can be little beast when it comes to roll racing specially the brutal 40 rolls on second gear. Here in southern cali you will see many Zs hang if not gap v8s. Don’t underestimate this 3.5 v6 it can gap GTOs, s197 Mustang GT, 5th gen Camaros....

I don't have a problem with digs, it literally snatches off the line. I've only got 300whp and I'm getting 1.9s in the 60ft on shitty tires at the strip in an automatic in manual mode and traction control off. I'm only preloading at 1800 rpms

Man, I feel bad for all the people who bought this car&370Z new.... We should thank them for giving everyone an access to such a great car for the price. This car is not only decently fast for the price, but you can also make this car sound really good thanks to its naturally aspirated V6, and there are tons of parts out there so you can easily repair or mod the car. I own a 2008 and there's a couple things you need to look out for. First would be the clutch slave cylinder I would advise when doing a clutch job (even if the slave hasn't gone bad yet) buying and installing the elimination kit otherwise when it does go bad you'll have to drop the entire transmission just to get at the slave again. Second is the fans...be prepared for the engine fans to just burn out. Other than that the motor is relatively stout and not insanely expensive to buy bolt ons for. Also takes extremely well to suspension mods (having redone the entire suspension in my car it's like a night and day difference). Another thing to realize is if you're looking to make big power (talking 500+ at the wheels) then you're going to laying out alot of cash and it would honestly be way cheaper to swap in a LS or 2JZ.

Two things bugged me, the power doesn't build gradually in the 350z as you put it and in turbo cars the power doesn't hit you all at once. It's the quite the opposite, the Z has like 80% of its torque available throughout the rev range and a jab at the throttle will get you an instant jerk of power and torque unlike a turbo car where the turbo spools and the power gradually picks up. The 350z has instant and linier power throughout the rev range. Also the strut brace is standard equipment.

Great ride to be in Joe I personally may get 1 but I'm sold on newer cars. Precise shifting sound and everything else. 1 thing I don't like is how almost every Nissan in Nissan's lineup is CVT!!!!???😡😡. Thanks Joe. Keep up the great work and reviews.

The 2007 has the HR motor! Was an awesome upgrade to the years before it. Now a days it's all about unusable power. You could use every bit of power on the streets with this car. Was always a blast to drive.

John Smith I totally agree with you!👍🏻
@Dannyyzeee5 жыл бұрын
a lot of people vouch for the HR (2007-2008) because it makes 15 more horse than the DE. Having owned both, the HR right off the bat is definitely faster, but for the amount of money you save by getting a DE you can slap on a $2k turbonetics kit and put buses on an HR. I bought my DE for 10k with 30k miles, where as the HR i was looking at was 16k with 30k miles. Both bone stock, coupe, manual, base models, one owner, no accidents.
@AU_Jason5 жыл бұрын
Daniyal S. I was looking for a comment like this! Dude, I am looking for a 350, so a DE would be a better bang for my buck? They go for about 8-9k whereas HR is about 12-3k here in my country...
@bluezevil13054 жыл бұрын
First, who cheaps out on a turbo kit 😆? Turbonetics is garbage, watch hi low on donut media. The DE has major oil consumption problems. Also the internals in the HR engine are 80% stronger than the DE. HR will be more reliable in the long run no matter what mods you do to it
@HansDelbruck535 жыл бұрын
I've always loved the Z cars, having owned a 260 back in the day with triple Mikuni carburetors and a couple of nice 280Zs later on: fun cars to drive, as well as easy to work on and reliable as hell. Haven't yet graduated to the 300 series, but may find myself owning one someday. Not for nothing, but I'm boycotting O'Reilly Auto Parts for interrupting the video with a commercial. I don't come to KZbin to see commercials. I'll watch broadcast TV if I want to see nonstop commercials. I hate that rampant advertising has now infested KZbin.

Nice review 👍🏼 my first car was an 03 g35 sedan, then got a 05 g35 coupe, and now i have an 08 350z. All of my vq’s have been reliable except for my 05 burning oil. I strongly recommend the HR over the DE. Although, if you do get a DE. 03-04 NON revup is your best bet. I bought my HR for $7500! Clean title, 95k miles, and 6 speed hardtop 🤤 and it hasn’t burn any oil THANK GOD

I don’t like the standard coupes near as much as the convertible. The standard coupes are just too damn round on the top in combination with having a round ass. I’m probably going to create a carbon fiber hard top on my convertible and maybe remove the internal soft top assembly to cut 100lb but still have a better appearance

This review could have been better and more informative. There are some serious differences that could have been touched on between the 03-05, 06, and 07-08, models of the 350z. Also, that strut tower brace is stock from Nissan not aftermarket. All that said, I absolutely love my 07 350z. It's a true, well balanced, driver's car.

The 1990-96 300ZX 2 seater is one of my top 5 all time favorite car designs. I always liked the G35 coupe better than the 350Z. That is a very nice and clean looking 350Z though. Great sound too. Wow! I also like the 370Z quite a lot. I truly hope Nissan redesigns and keeps the Z in the lineup for years to come.
