Doubts- 1. Extra weight- This is applicable only when all 5 seats are occupied in a 5 seater car. Otherwise, if there are 2 passengers only then car is effectively carrying weight of 3 people (including 70 kg of CNG Cylinder) for which car brakes were already designed. 2. Catalystic Convetor- Even cars of BS4 had Catalytic Converters. Real problem is in Diesel cars as they have been fitted with Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which gets chocked often.

1. You are considering a scenario where only 3 people are seated inside the car. What if all the seats are occupied? CNG fitment will add extra weight to the car. 2. Cars during BS4 had catalytic converter, but the BS6 cars have a bigger catalytic converter for which the aftermarket CNG kits are not yet designed.

BS6 Rules came in picture wef 1/4/2020 but even after 1 1/2 year, rules for After Market CNG Fitment have not been finalized & this is creating confusion.

True, it is my wild guess that the government wants EV adoption to pick up pace.

If after market CNG fitment is not approved considering Safety, Then government should banned 🚫 the cars which are not tested by GNCAP or scored lower/zero ratting in GNCAP.

Your concern for safety is true. But, India has its own rules known as BNVSAP norms that are related to safety in cars. You need to understand that India is a developing nation that has recently started to focus on safety. If the government was to ban all the cars that are not tested by GNCAP or scored low safety levels, the majority of Indians won't have access to cars. Do consider that in India, the majority of people travel by two-wheelers. Upgrading to a four-wheeler is already a small step towards safer commuting. I am not defending any carmaker or saying that we should settle for less safe cars. It's a matter of time when India will have a proper setup, like GNCAP where cars will be tested. The government is adamant about making Indian roads better and safety is a prime concern that is being addressed. It is up to us, the car buyers, who can opt for better safety in cars rather than getting attracted to bogus features.

If it is just saftey issue why not tell the companies to get them fitted with proper norms?
@everythingautopro52993 жыл бұрын
That is why company-fitted CNG is allowed. If the carmakers were to make every car compliant of the aftermarket CNG addition, it will add to the cost of the vehicle.

The company will always approach to get Factory fitted CNG as they have huge benefits and loss of the customers because the price of factory fitted CNG cars are more than 1 lakh. Company should only charge 50-60 thousands for S-CNG

If you don't have good information, then please avoid making video just for the sake of it. Nothing you mentioned makes sense why CNG cannot be fitted in BS6. CNG is the cleanest form of emission / fuel catalytic converter will not have any issues with it. Catalytic converter was there in previous generation of cars also. Also all the points that you mentioned holds good for previous generation of vehicle however government did not have any concern there suddenly with BS6 They have all this concern. Looks like there are some other motives which we don't know.
