The Jews had circumcision of the flesh but Christians have circumcision of the heart.

The Jews don’t believe Jesus is the Mesiah The Christians don’t believe in the Torah . When both should be part of everyone’s believes.
@horizontide568 Жыл бұрын
is it a metaphor? The Jews had to get circumcised as a form of cleanliness or purity in God's eyes right? Christians need circumcision of their hearts, meaning purity of the heart for Jesus Christ. Am I understanding this right?

@@horizontide568 Its basically saying the Jews had to mutilate themselves to appease their god but Christians just need to follow God in their heart to be with him.

Galatians 5 makes clear that circumcision is totally worthless.

To establish God's order in ordinary conduct and living, circumcision was introduced as a sign of an agreement.

Now, another question that arises, from what I said in Part 2 of this series, is that none of the Apostles were Gentiles, but Jewish. In fact, the one who was the "most Jewish" was the one most preaching against the works of the Law, that is, the Torah. I feel as though perhaps Romans 7 is key in understanding Paul's mindset here in how he was "in bondage" to the Law in a superficial way rather than reliance on the Spirit, which is what Paul preaches to the Gentiles in Galatians. Very interesting stuff! It was BECAUSE of Paul's Jewishness and being "blameless" that he knew keeping the Law has no power to save!

There is a spiritual and physical application here. The act of circumcision is you walking your faith out.
@OriginalBlueFrankie Жыл бұрын
Hello Lisa, if you are referring to Abraham and his blood heirs then yes, the practice of outward circumcision was an act of faith. If you are referring to Christians today then the circumcision of Christ is inward only, a work of the holy spirit regenerating the heart and thus not an act of faith. It is however a prerequisite for faith - the gift of God - a heart which can at last trust and love him.

The big deal of circumcision by hands has actually been a question for me. Thank you pastor John for the clarity

So God is not a God! How come a God change his mind? Why God ask Abraham (He was not a Jew) to do circuncisión? Why God ask Moses to do circuncisión? Why God did circuncisión as Jesus? Why God COMMAND the patriarch to make sure the descendants of his descendants to do circuncisión? So who are Abraham descendants? Definitely ME! I don’t know about you!
@dawnbassey5630 Жыл бұрын
you are not a descendant of Abraham if you are not a Jew. You do not need to be a descendant of Abraham to partake of the blessings. God told Abraham that through him, all the families of the earth (including those who are not his descendants) will be blessed. and that is why we who are not Jews got grafted in - through Jesus

Ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, but have omitted the weightier matters of the law: judgment, and mercy, and faith: _these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone._ Thus saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations, In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations. And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves. Thus saith the Lord GOD; _No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh,_ shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel. (MAT23, EZK44)

Wow. I have had the question of why circumcision was the sign of the Abrahamic covenant for some time now. I thought it was odd that the sign was in the penis like that. I knew there was a reason, I just didn't know what it was. I never connected the dots "multitude of nations" and "offspring". It makes complete sense now. Thanks, pastor John! Sometimes a person just wants to know what God was up to😊

@@avasdv The Jewish population is dying out many young people in the community are converting to Christianity. In a way their population is a half a percent in the United States. They have very few kids and the kids do not wanna stay in the Jewish community. Some are angry about their circumcision and out of spite joined Christianity. It has literally forced some Jewish rabbis to remove the practice because they are losing so many people. The fact this banned practice is still preformed among us American Christians is disgusting. I myself have been circumcised I plan on reversing it so my future sons may not know of this barbaric practice.

John, you seem to be ignoring the elephant in the room: your complicity in the election of Biden/Harris. You said that pride was of foremost importance in the election; hence, you implied that Trump was the worst possible choice. Since then, you’ve gone silent. Why, John? You got your prize, Trump is out of office. What do you think about Biden’s (and yours) gift to the nations? You know, the funding of abortion worldwide?

Thanks , israel become part of the covenant ,by flesh circumcision ? For gentiles cut off from the covenant by uncircumcision of flesh? Gentile to be part of them they have to be circumcized in flesh ( Christs flesh) ,is not? So why circumcision of flesh not matter? It cuts and brings to covenant. But It matters only ፡ in Christs flesh by hand of God to be received by faith. Out ward no matter Galatians 6 (KJV) - 15: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Inward matter Philippians 3 (KJV) - 3: For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. The faith of abraham was blocked by circumcision (no body justified like him by faith only with out circumcision) but now revealed with out that? (On the cross) To be justified by faith only. Now Gentile and jew justified by faith only. But my question , that one time (in time past) ? From which to which time is that ? Is it till the cross? Thanks !
