In this video, I get into the recent controversies surrounding Deepika, like the slut-shaming and name-calling she's had to deal with, not to mention her struggles with depression. Sadly, rather than applauding her courage, she faced vicious trolling and character assassination. The question arises: Why can't society confront reality without resorting to bitterness and judgment? These people who are quick to criticize, would likely be the 1st ones to ask for a selfie with Deepika Padukone.
Now, I've been through the depression and name-calling journey myself, so I'm sharing my thoughts and experiences on these issues.

I don't understand why people talk ill about her. Every relationship starts off as an open relationship and will get exclusive once we feel "this is the right person". Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and while I am opposed to any form of slut shaming, here is my take on all of this drama. People like me and others were enraged by Deepika's hypocrisy. In one of her previous interviews on Koffee with Karan, she stated that after her relationship with Ranbir ended, she didn't want to be in casual relationships and wanted to date cautiously, and now she was saying the opposite. Another problem is that when asked about the names, she stated she couldn't remember, which she blatantly lied about and looked like she knew she messed up by saying these things, to which Ranveer said, but I recall vividly. Another point is that her provocative statement regarding Ranbir harmed his image, which can never recover. In one of Ranbir's interviews with Simmy, he stated that he respects her views and will accept whatever she says about him without holding grudges, but he was surprised that Deepika didn't say anything in front of him, and he would appreciate it if she would communicate her feelings in this manner personally to him. In fact, his episode was also shot on the same day, and she was delighted to meet him behind the scenes. In summary, she was being quite cordial behind the scenes with him on the same day she made that offensive statement about him.

I am not a fan of her but I think people like you are trying to read too much in between the lines. How long after she dated Ranbir, she decided to open up to go for dates with guys? First of all, it is absolutely fine to change your dating preferences over time. Deepika did mention that she wanted to be cautious which is the reason she did not want to commit to a man once again. We must remember Deepika is not from a film family and her relationship with RK was at a time she had no exposure or experience of the Industry. So, naturally she was affected by what happened in that relationship. Nevertheless, changing your dating preferences and being in a consensual open relationship before committing to a man is not hypocrisy. Coming to Ranveer and the episode, Deepika clearly said I don't remember to avoid taking names of people she had seen on national TV. Ranveer saying oh yes I remember seemed like an inside reference, but it was sort of clear that she did not wish to take names. I hope we all know this is not a live show and moments can be edited out/removed if required so it is not like they did not edit/remove bits accordingly either. About the fact that her comments affected RK and his image: she is not the only one who spoke of her experience. RK's father publicly admitted his son's ways, and RK himself admitted to cheating on Deepika. I don't understand why a woman is being shamed for rightfully calling out a man for cheating. And sure, she was decent enough to not scream at him at a public backstage event, does not mean she was happy with him. I am sure we would also try to be civil to our toxic exes, especially if we are a celebrity. But shaming a woman for speaking up about her bad experience or trauma in a relationship is not acceptable. Deepika has been publicly humiliated, slut shamed and awfully harassed on the internet for simply revealing that she casually dated for a while before committing to a man. The same industry she comes from has men who have sexual harassment allegations, murder allegations and domestic violence allegations to their names. Yet none were publicly harassed the way she has been. Ranbir Kapoor has publicly shown several instances of his mindset (publicly body shaming his pregnant wife, interrupting his co stars disrespectfully and making fun of Anushka's anxiety issues publicly), so him being rightfully called out cheating is not the same as slut shaming a woman for her dating choices.

Even if Deepika wasnt from a film family she had enough connections, lets not forget she dated Nihar Pandya (his parents were rich socialites)she also dated Sidharth Mallya, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni etc. Theres no problem in being in an open/casual relationship but there was absolutely no need to confess all that in public, cos Ranveer clearly looked upset. We all see how he constantly praises her, puts her on a pedestal like she's some goddess, it was absolutely disrespectful to declare on a public platform when Ranveer clearly wasnt happy with it. No one is denying the fact that Ranbir is a cheater, but its about Deepika's holier than thou attitude. She USED Nihar Pandya for his connections and cheated on him with Ranbir. She lived in an apartment gifted by Nihar's parents and invited Ranbir Kapoor over and asked Nihar to leave them alone. He was in therapy after the relationship ended, with depression and anxiety. So if Ranbir is a cheater, Deepika is no less. If he can get defamed for cheating on girls, theres no reason why she should be spared for literally doing the same or worse. The fact that she was cordial to him backstage but chose to say what she did on the show, just shows how two faced she is lol. Slut shaming is completely unacceptable but its great that people are seeing the real face behind the damsel in distress persona. She dated Nihar Pandya for his connections. cheated and disposed him but expect people to shower sympathy on her for using her break up for clout. Not anymore.

She did break up with him because she wanted to date Ranbir and there are articles about how she asked him to leave, but still, cheating is being in two simultaneous relationships without the other person's knowledge or consent. The MSD and Yuvraj Singh story are as false as Ranbir being gay for Ayan. MSD infact officially denied having ever dated Deepika. Lastly, I am not sure people understand this but KWK is a scripted show and whatever they say are edited as per convenience. This is not a live show so if at all there were any moments RS or Deepika were uncomfortable with, they would not make it to national television. Ranveer himself dated multiple women in the same time so him being upset about it is absolute crap. What makes you believe they would publicly display an uncomfortable situation is beyond me. Personally I felt RS did not look uncomfortable in the episode at all. So trying to paint him as someone who was wronged or unhappy is beyond funny because again, this isn't a CCTV camera footage. This is a show where the guests are told what they will be asked, they can think about what to say and anything shot can be edited out. Ranveer was very much aware of the casual relationship and he has his own time with women too. Infact, there are stories about him now as well which I won't get into given there's no reliable source for it. So please stop trying to portray Ranveer as some wronged victim. Also, Ranbir has never been defamed the way Deepika has been as rightly pointed out by Jovita. Watch the video which came out a few days back taken in a university. When has Ranbir been subjected to such crap? Also, stop blaming DP for RK's reputation. She is not responsible for every actor calling him a playboy in KWK, his father admitting it and HE HIMSELF admitting to cheating. And again, I don't understand why it is hard to understand why she was cordial to him in a space where they were clearly not alone. None of us would scream at a toxic ex in public even if we want to strangle them in our minds. She was asked in the show about her relationship and she spoke up about it.

I don't know about other parts of India... But me and my sister are mallu girls born and raised in Delhi... I know for a reason Delhi is very open minded in comparison to Kerala... OMG... Kerala still has a lot of backward thoughts now... I remember my sister was studying in Kerala for her graduation and had a relationship when those guys broke up mutually also her classmates have slutshamed her saying how can you break up... Like break up in like Divorce for those guys 😔😔😔... Then I was looking for a groom and got connected with a boy in Kerala... Just to give a little background...Ranbir was and is still trolled and is called the eternal red flag ..I never liked him for his play boy nature and more due to the way he treats Alia ( or atleast from what is apparent )..Now Deepika came out saying she was depressed after a couple of failed relations ( even her mom said on record ) and since 2013 Ranbir was called " red flag" and was unpopular due to this since Deepika categorically went on 2 interviews and Said " I don't know to take relationships frivolously and not commit but date " ..so in this interview she is seen contradicting herself ..since the timelines matched ..and that is why she is being trolled !...and yes both Ranbir and Deepika are being trolled ..If there is someone who is green flag according to Indian Media is Anushka and Virat ..but the sad fact is how can media or anyone know about someone's personal life ! I guess it's because of some people's lack of knowledge about the concept of Consent. When two people explicitly say it out aloud to each other and consent to the fact that they are only in love with each other and don't want to be with anyone else, then its called being committed and exclusive.. But when two people are clear about their intentions in the dating scenario with each other, that they are not exclusive and can date around with others or at the very least consider other options, then its an open relationship. You can't cheat in an open relationship . But you can be accused of cheating in a committed relationship where after you commit to a person and tell them so, and let them trust you on a deeper level, its betrayal when you tell your partner that she is the only one, enjoy the exclusivity, commitment, the security from a committed relationship, but behind her back date other women. Deepika was in an open relationship with Ranveer where he knew that they were in an open relationship. But Ranbir was not in an open relationship with Deepika, but was in a committed relationship with Deepika where he cheated on her. Hope its clear now.

I totally understand your pov, but as someone who has spent years trying to learn from what was done to me in relationships/what i did in relationships, the only thing that anyone who wants a healthy relationship needs to understand is - do not lead someone on in a way that you don't want to be lead on by someone else. From my limited knowledge of what we watched in that episode, Ranveer and Deepika were seeing other people but they were both committed to each other in their 'minds'. Kudos to Ranveer for having the confidence to pull off a proposal without being in a serious relationship with Deepika first but if she had said "No." to him that day, it would have led to one of the most painful heartbreaks ever for Ranveer. Deepika, as someone who had once been in a horrible partnership herself, should have known better. Even if they had the verbal contract of an open relationship, once the partners start to get more involved with each other emotionally, that contract no longer holds valid and the idea of a full commitment needs to be discussed, otherwise, at least one party is bound to get hurt. "I was committed to him in my mind" does not sound right at all. Taking from the point you mentioned as well, if you are not ready for an emotional commitment, don't get into one. But if it happens automatically, then things need to either change for the better, or end immediately. Additionally, Ranbir has been trolled enough for his Casanova ways of life. This is not man vs. woman. Infact, by being his partner, Alia Bhatt automatically bears the brunt of numerous trollings.

Some thoughts on Deepika: 1. Going on dates and chatting with other guys is not equal to an open relationship. I don't think people know the actual meaning of an open relationship LOL. 2. Nothing wrong with going on dates/chatting with other men and exploring your options. That happens even when you're seeing people for a potential arranged marriage. 3. I am also battling anxiety. I could say I am a little bit of a hypochondriac and that is not fun. People judge all the time but only you and God know how things really are. I'm so sorry to hear that someone close to you has called you demonic for being depressed. That is not cool. As a Catholic Christian, I can see where they may be coming from with that but the delivery was surely wrong, if not the intention. Just yesterday, I was watching this interview with a renowned real life exorcist about the real connection of mental health problems to the demonic. He was so articulate and had explained it very well so I would not even try to quote him 'coz I know I'd probably butcher it. 😹 He said something along the lines of the reality of the existence of certain types of demons. There is a demon of fear, of lust, of envy, or of depression, etc. And that they like to play tricks on people and that they project what they feel to us. Because they want us to be miserable like them. They make us feel depressed so that we only look inwardly...so that we would miss our real purpose and calling and ultimately, resent God. So I guess, it is wrong to say that the person himself is demonic rather, a victim of the enemies of God. It was such an interesting interview. I have been your follower for long, have always benefitted from watching your content but today your words made me feel like I am also following an influencer with a heart. The slut shaming that Deepika has bewn facing for the last two weeks is awful, I don't know how someone can deal with this. With no intention of barging into your private life, I want to say it's brave of you to talk about this given what a traumatic relationship experience you may have had not so long ago. In Jyoti Mourya's case also, most of the Instagram posts I saw were like that "Ladki ko padhaoge to yahi hoga" (This is what happens when girls get educated) and no husband should support their wives in their careers. There were hardly any posts that actually supported the man who was the victim. The same is happening in Deepika Padukone's case as well. This Instagram meme community mostly consists of men who post a lot of misogynistic stuff like a girl's virginity, and jokes about physical violence, rape and dowry. And now they have found another way to just bring down girls. What bothers them is a woman being in a casual relationship. People can have positive and negative opinions about that controversy which is completely their opinion. I don’t agree to slut shaming but in this case it was about DP making her ex look really bad because of what he did to her. At the time she said on public platforms that she loves commitments and does not understand open relationships. However a few years later seems like she has forgotten all of that when she mentions herself that she was keeping her options open. So either she was lying about her beliefs then or lying about it now. Don’t agree with Ranbir Kapoor not being trolled one bit as well.
