since the 3rd century AD.. BISHOP DIONYSIUS OF ALEXANDRIA EXAMINES THE BOOK OF REVELATION AND CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS NOT WRITTEN BY THE AUTHOR OF THE so called GOSPEL OF JOHN.. it was written by two different authors.

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant JOHN: Who bare record of the WORD OF GOD, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." Rev 1:1-2 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;" 1 John 1:1 Friend, the person that bore record of the Word of God was John as referenced in his gospel and his first letter as I have copied for you to read. No disrespect, but you could have easily proved this to yourself without just saying that Dionysius said blah, blah, blah. We really need to be stronger in the scriptures so that every Tom, Dick and Harry that has an alternative opinion does not sway us into impossible conclusions that contradict sound doctrine. Now John may not have written it with his own hand, but he certainly supplied all the content. Let's be forensic when approaching these subjects. There are so many deceivers out there.
