I left KY 25 years ago because of the drugs and overdosing of several friends. I've been flourishing here in Central Florida. Horticulture has a 12 month growing season here! Recently bought land in WV for a mountain retreat.

Headline says “everyone” is leaving Kentucky. But the creator is pitching the state as a place to move to. Actually the truth is somewhere in between. Kentucky’s leaders (or what passes for leaders here) have mindlessly clung to coal and tobacco, missing chances to modernize our inert economic development. The state has the highest death rates from cancer, including smoking related cases, but no one dares breathe a word that upsets the tobacco lobby. There is an absence of innovation here and anyone who doesn’t conform to the dominant paradigm is not encouraged to speak up. It’s quite stagnating.

Common wealth states are horrible. They try to suck every penny they can. It's the same in Pennsylvania

Get used to 3 things in Kentucky; The women are hard Hard HARD and mean, mufflers on every vehicle imagined are modified or removed to make them louder, and always remember, if you have trash in your car THROW IT OUT YOUR WINDOW NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE. Master these 3 issues and you're golden.
