Maaaaan. I'm gonna cry. Even as someone that came from a descent family, with a sibling dynamic that's a lot like the boys in this show, even I can say that I crave the level of love and respect the Rise family has for each other. I like how they're healthy and flawed, how they're willing to go to the ends of the earth for each other, how they represent family in its truest form. Rise really is something special and it deserves to return and I will always stand by that. #SaveROTTMNT #SaveRiseoftheTMNT #RiseSeason3 #TMNT #UnpauseROTTMNT #UnpauseRiseoftheTMNT #SaveRiseofTMNT

Rise is so beautiful because it’s not afraid of showing family. Especially on the male side, which we definitely do not get enough of 💕

@@viperizer0 Feel free to use my words in a future video if you're ever inclined. I'm about to go on a rant here. The thing that makes Rise so SPECIAL, is that it's SO RARE to see siblings act like friends. Even within the TMNT series. Before Rise, the brothers rarely showed affection to each other (outside of one/all of them being in a near death situation). They barely acted like family. They were just a team of superheroes. Which is great for a show about superheroes...but these are siblings. And it always bothered me, that a lot of the time, they treated each other with annoyance, or unhealthy rival dynamics. Rise knows how healthy siblings acts and it shows it. The older I get, the stronger my relationship with my siblings becomes, and that is because we were best friends growing up. We had fights, sure, but we also had times where we messed around, did something stupid together, schemed together, apologized, messed up, had our single brain cell moments. Rise knows, understands, and shows all of this. Not only that, but each sibling pair up has its own dynamics, which is incredibly realistic. The sibling nearest to me in age has my back the same way that Leo has Raph's back. The youngest siblings are closer to each other, the same way that Donnie and Micky are closest to each other. Raph/Leo are supportive but also butt heads with the oldest sibling being 100% responsible and his younger sibling being a little bit more carefree but smart enough to step up when things get wild. Not to mention that Leo is almost always supporting his brothers in a more subtle, "I'll always be on your side" kind of way that they need. It's not like Mikey, who you throw emotional support to anyone who needs it. Leo gives support in a subtle way, giving the team exactly what they need at the moment. It's one of his strengths as someone that can read people really well. Raph is the team protector and the one that wrangles the boys most often. As the oldest sibling, I relate to him a lit. But what makes him so great is that he's not a super serious stick in the mud. Most older siblings in media are miniature adults, always serious, always perfect, ever the leader, never silly, basically secondary parents. Raph is not like that. Sure, he's a great moral center and aware of his responsibility, but even he has moments of being accidentally inconsiderate, or doing something dumb with the rest of his siblings. And that's exactly what being the oldest is like. You watch out for your kid brothers and sisters, try to teach them right from wrong, but you also run around, play, and be just as dumb as the rest of them. And I LOVE that the show took the time to show the pressure that Raph is under. He's a more realistic leader than any other if the Leo's in the other TMNT series, because his leadership comes from love, not from duty. It comes from knowing that your kid siblings look up to and depend on you. So the pressure he's under, the annoyance he feels, is not because his team is not doing right. It's because his brothers need him, and he knows it. It's not because a leadership role was chosen for him by Splinter, nor one that he volunteered for. It's because he's the oldest and he takes on that role naturally, like most older siblings do. It's because he's protective by nature. And his impatience and hotheadedness makes so much sense when you think of him as the oldest sibling. Because as fun as it is to mess around with your kid siblings, you still get annoyed by their level of maturity compared to your own. The expectations of being the oldest are not the same as being the middle or youngest. Donnie is the middle sibling in every sense of the word, even going as far as being the one that Splinter seems to pay the least attention to, but that does not mean that Splinter does not love him wholeheartedly. Sometimes you have that sibling that seems emotionally unavailable and not as approachable as the others, but they still show love, not always with words, but with actions. And Donnie represents that sibling that riffs on the others, but doesn't do it in a way that's spiteful or goes too far. Like Raph, Donnie is a protector. Everything he does is to watch out for his siblings. But unlike Raph, he's not mature enough, emotionally or psychologically, to have a strong sense of right from wrong. He will go out of his way to do what he can for his siblings, will get annoyed that they don't things logically, but will frequently lose himself emotionally as well. He's everything the middle child is. Not old enough to be fully mature, but not young enough not to recognize that he's making some major mistakes. And he has the freedom to do that because Raph and Leo tend to pick up the slack most of the time. And then there's Mikey. For the first time ever, his carefree attitude makes sense, since he is the youngest. Everyone talks about his high emotional intelligence, but the thing that makes Mikey so lovable in Rise...is that his brothers love him with an intensity that has never been shown before in any other TMNT. In almost all other versions of TMNT, Mikey's optimism and fun loving personality is treated like a hindrance. Not in Rise. Most media depicts little brothers as annoying little pranksters that just exist to be a pain in the ass for the older siblings. Little brothers that no one takes seriously. But Rise does NOT do that. Leo takes Mikey seriously. Donnie is aware of Mikey's softy nature, but he will not put Mikey down or tell him to behave himself. Leo treats Mikey like an equal, even seeing him as a rival to watch out for in the "you got served" episode. Even though Raph is overprotective of Mikey, he and Mikey still hang out, have a strong bond, and can tease each other without it being condescending. Not to mention that, even though Mikey is still silly, he's also the one to see a situation for what it is and is not afraid to be downright blunt about it. Like most youngest siblings. Kids have less of a filter, will tell it like it is, politeness be damned, and that's Dr. Delicate Touch to a tee. Mikey, like Leo, tries a lot to keep his family together, (they all do in their own way) but Mikey does it by being the most honest and open. No manipulation, no need to put it under a big brother sense of duty or condescension, he just tells it like it is. And then there is April. Almost EVERY big sister in media has to be this overbearing teenager that can't STAND her little brothers, and will only really defend them if their in danger. Except for Jazz (Danny Phantom) most older sisters treat their little brothers like a hindrance, and there is a sense of annoyance, especially when the lil brothers are annoying little kids. Not April. First off, she won't put up with any silly behavior, but she will be there to have fun and support the boys when she needs to. She doesn't put any pressure on them to act a certain way. She appreciates their little eccentricities, and will definitely let them have it if they've gone too far. But the thing that gets me is that, the boys absolutely love her. She's never forced into a romantic role. They never treat her like a girl. They treat like an equal and will absolutely support her to death if needed. In an age where sister-brother relationships are either creepy (see anime) or antagonistic, it's so nice to see a show where the men love and respect (and fear, IE Big Mama) the women in their lives. Finally, let's talk about how the men in this show are not afraid to show affection. Most media shows brothers as being at each other's throats or trying to one up each other. While Rise has that sometimes, as it's unrealistic not to, the rest of the time, the brothers aren't just brothers, they're best friends. There's no one character that gets bullied excessively. Everyone riffs on each other and knows when they've gone too far. They will hug and say I love you, and casually compliment each other as though it's normal. No need to be weird about it at all. Not to mention, that things like kindness, generosity, nurturing, being emotionally open, being sorry, and having shared interests are treated as normal. The Rise brothers support each other and there are no strings attached. Splinter, is probably the most accepting parent I've seen since Uncle Iroh. He doesn't put pressure on his boys, doesn't get overly mad and cruel when they disrespect him (like all teens do). When he does make them choose not to be emotional, he realizes his mistake, and reminds his sons that they're perfect as they are. He doesn't double down when his mistakes are called out. He's able to see the greatness in his sons, he's able to forgive and easily move on, not hold a grudge when his boys are being disrespectful or frustrating. He's not perfect, but he loves his sons. We live in a world where kids are stressed for not being perfect, not getting perfect grades, not having their lives figured out at sixteen, not having a plan for the future and on and on. And here comes Splinter, who knows his kids are flawed, but loves them wholeheartedly anyway. It's rare to see a single father that isn't perfect, but tries his best anyway. It's also realistic to see a single father that is more hands off the older his kids get, but also there for them, will take a bullet for them, and will support their dreams and desires regardless. Splinter didn't choose to be a dad, but he stepped up anyway. TLDR: I could go on forever, but I feel that this is long enough. Rise is awesome. The character and relationship dynamites are fantastic, and the family is realistically wonderful and flawed.Новые бременские

@@RocknRocknRock Wow! That is really in depth! I agree with you on many things. ESPECIALLY with men not showing emotion in the media. Rise is really REALLY important to me because not only does it show healthy relationships between siblings and family… but it also shows that it’s okay to be open. To be vulnerable. You can have emotions and still feel valid. Ugh. I’ll need to give it a rewatch soon it’s so good.

I miss Rise of the TMNT SO MUCH Another show that focused on family that I freaking LOVE (and was cut too soon) is Ducktales 2017!! That show was explicitly made to show what the writers thought family really was about
