Currently burned out, for me it was the performance related issues such as laggy games, for my pc which has 3070 and i5-10600k yet im lagging. Also the new dashes are very hard to track, and the enemies seem to just appear from nowhere, it seems very one sided to me.

The storyline kept me so hyped about what was gonna come next in fortnite. I will never forget the feeling at the end of primal season when the crop circles and the audio logs were coming out I was just so hyped for the story.

Yeah, they kinda got lazy and flooded the story with too many live events. It's like they don't matter anymore because there's always another one. You can see it in the numbers - I used to be really into Fortnite, watching TG's streams a lot two years back. He'd pull in 20-25k views easily. Now during a live event? Just 5k. Fortnite's losing its popularity. It's a mix of hardcore players burning out, casuals getting fed up with too much happening all the time, and Epic not delivering the good content like they used to. They keep adding cool stuff, but there's so much already that people are getting bored. It's like they're trying to be Mr. Beast, throwing out more and more stuff for quick hits of excitement and dopamine, but eventually, it gets old. Fortnite and Mr. Beast both need to shake things up soon if they wanna stay in the game. Otherwise they will be pushed out by more consistent games.

their greed got them in the end, fired the people who actually cared to just pump out live events for more viewership and more money, its like the lifecycle of large game companies and companies in general, they start out strong, and in epics case keep going for a while but then get overly greedy and try to milk their customers/player base (excessive live events) and then the player base gets fed up and leaves, If they dont make a major change they will likely be irrelevant in a year or so's time. (btw i quit ages ago when this was just starting)

The only reliable form of mobility is a fizz jar due to epic disregarding the wings and the majority of end games have gotten stale (atleast imo) just due to heal off being so strong.

my thing is that it just doesn't feel like Fortnite anymore. it feels like a knock off game or a really bad sequel to a movie. I had played from chapter 1 season 3 all the way to chapter 3 season 3. almost every single day . and then i stopped playing. I hate how they kept make changes like removing siphon, from comp. changing the movement, changing all the guns from bloom to having bullet drop off. even the maps being more dark rather than bright nice colors. that in my opinion made the game fun, fair, and competitive. that's what made it Fortnite a fun competitive arcade style BR not a wanna be cod.

It's because they made the game too unrealistically real. It's a cartoon game where instead of blood and gore you get just teleported back to the lobby via a drone that appears above you when you die. It's a game where you can play as a series of MASSIVE collabs and play a game where you used to be able to sift through sand, use marvel abilities, use a magic sword that gives you siphon and super jumps. It's a FANTASY, and instead of growing it up into some goofier and more entertaining ideas you get too settled on modernized or too skillful changes. Like who needs bullet drop in a cartoon battle royale? It just seems so stale and realistic to how weapons function in a cartoon game. And instead of catering to the less skilled players, you make all the guns require more skill to use. Bro the reticle on hammer pump is like half the size of a regular pumps reticle and spread. It's a joke to expect people to have enough time in their day to grind the hell outta the game just to hit for 100+ damage and build slightly better.

The map sucks the collaborations are cool but they’re effecting fortnite for what it is way too much. You don’t need to take out player’s favorite weapons and add broken mythics every collab. The tournament prize pools are terrible. Fortnite lost it way they’re letting other companies invest in them and their changing way to much.

The map has some cool POIs but it feels very one sided. It’s like half the map is new POIs and everything else is just dead since they didn’t really add much to the season one locations. I like the mythics overall, but some are hit or miss. They could be kind of cool even when broken. My big gripe with the game atm is fans complaining so much about every little detail. I’m personally having fun but I do wish next season is a bit more relaxed with the mythics and we get some new Pois. Or at the very least add more stuff to the Poi’s.

Another issue when it comes to comp that I don’t think people have considered… with globals being in early September, it is quite possible that there will be six months of barely any competitive events/no major events. (September-Feb 2025).

The only reason why i haven’t been liking fortnite lately is because i tend to play games i can get really immersed in and i did get immersed in fortnite up until ch4 when they didn’t bring back any old Poi’s and barely did anything with the storyline and it feeling more and more lifeless than it had been in ch3. I love the game but just not as much as i used to because the colors are muted, guns aren’t hitscan and there aren’t any live events (except for the end of chapter ones which don’t really count since its basically just an ad for the new chapter) which has made me less immersed. I do hope epic realizes that them not giving each mode the same amount of updates is slowly killing their game. Now obviously fortnite will probably never die but they’ll have way less players than they used to. Cant believe i just wrote a paragraph talking about fortnite losing its immersion smh.

honestly i think a fairly big reason to why less people are competing and less people are interested in the game is due to the lack of mobility as 0 movement seasons are alot harder for newer players compared to last season where anyone could hop in and compete with the grapple blade this season has flowberry fizz

I had been playing the game for 4 and a half years and I really liked competitive. The major thing that made me stop playing frequently is the meta that’s basically get in a box and start spamming with a shotgun that takes no skill. Moreover the servers are really bad since the game contains some many other game modes other than battle royale. It has reached a point where if you don’t have 50 ping pr lower in game you can not play and I play on 60-80 ping and I can not move somewhere else to have better ping. I really liked the competitive but it feels like the game is ping based and not fair for everyone. The bad schedule really affected me as well since I am a student and I need to create a program about when I should play. The fncs feels like it’s getting worse every season I feel like we need a big change to all tournaments for them to be exciting. A lot of friends of mine have also stopped playing consistently for basically the same reasons as me. The amount of colabs have also become a meme. In this season’s battle pass they could have put ares as the secret skin but they decided to put the avatar skin. I feel like everything is messed up and they should make a change to br because there is no point to grind anymore if you know that the game doesn’t require much skill. You either have good ping or you can’t play. At this point fortnite br should be a different game to install on your computer.

The game has always been ping base / client sided. If you're above 30 ping it will be even harder for you to keep that same motivation to grind comp. Central just made it worse it just gave one state good ping and made everyone else get shitter ping. People who are affected the most a People who don't live in the states but epic doesn't really care about that so ggs. Hence why I just don't even bother with comp, anytime I see a tweet about ping I just say some dumb shit like "ping is just a mindset" when we all know if half these pros or even most had 60+ ping they wouldn't even be here today prime example Mero, Clix and many more pros. only pros that literally made it on high ping was Reet was on 40 - 60 and currently a EU pro he even won a fncs can't remember his name and he's still on 50 ping. Also if you also want something to laugh at just remember as soon as cooper got central servers he exploded in popularity and he was normally on 20 - 30 ping now 0 - 10 ping little ping difference and he went from nobody to global champ. Then again 0 ping Central has a bigger advantage than Nae or Naw because only a ppl in texas get 0 ping everyone else is 20+ ( so practically ) if anyone is on it and still is ass and can't get free earnings then thats just so sad

You're absolutely right. I recently placed in the top 2,500 in FNCS, but it's frustrating knowing that the qualification threshold in round 2 was only 25 points higher after just an hour into the tournament. It makes me wonder why I didn't push a little harder to secure those last points for qualification, especially since the second round is seemingly more accessible. I strongly believe that Fortnite should introduce more tournaments, as they're a big reason why many of us play the game. How about having a solo cash cup every week? Or even a duo cash cup using the same format, where many players can qualify and you can earn money by winning in the finals?

It would help if Epic started enforcing the rules to get rid of all the soft aim/aimbot hackers. It keeps getting worse and I am going sometimes 3-4 out of 5 or 6 games with blatant aimbot hackers, and seeing them in multiple lobbies carrying 500+ crown victories. Is it really that hard to see 500+ crown victories is sus for someone who is not a pro and watching ten seconds of his match can see he is quick sniping headshots on every person in the lobby better then any pro. That could be a start on getting players back.

Sorry, but not even top pros do that. Even top gaming magazine said that it was in the 60% of lobbies have some form of cheater. Epic is not cleaning up the mess. Also had a guy yesterday with soft aim and 547 crown victories. Most pros don't even have that, and he is some unknown. Sorry, the game is rife with cheaters, nearly one in every ranked match, and almost every casual match as well.

I typically spectate because I do not want to report a good player without proof of them hacking. The guy yesterday with Cerberus was literally 180 headshots with shotguns on guys he did not even know were there, and his cursor is bouncing all over the place in a battle every time he aimed. I think you are likely just don't care and move on, which is what most people do, and is why there are more hackers this season then many other seasons. DMA is also making it easier and more difficult to catch them.

After Epic spoiled me with the season all the vaults were in air with insane loot the hammer ar and prime shot gun where amazing the map was an actual banger loot was plentiful you could still play solid gold ltm mode I was still vibing sense the beginning of chapter 2 season 1 when they refreshed the map from the older looking graphics’s such good memories then the season comes with the shockwave hammer and from there Until now yeah…. They have less employees availiable for battle royale which is why there are no more live events and most likely less content once the season drops

i'm ngl i think this is the most fumbled season, everything seemed so promising but they just didn't keep it up at all. story wasn't great, such a flat villain and no real main character(s), the lootpool is basically the same as last season, i just see everyone picking up hammer pump, burst smg, and sniper, maybe a gatekeeper but that's it really. the new weapons are also horrible which is part of why the lootpool feels the same, every weapon they added either suffers from lower damage, lower firerate, or slower bullet speed compared to other guns that are also in the lootpool. ranked is also pretty boring, just the usual duo's and solo stuff, nothing new so that's not surprising.

I think they should have a season based around competitive with weapons like the pump shotgun, hammer pump, scar, combat smg, etc. make it only a month like going back to different chapters, but there is a tournament every day for a prize like a skin and pickaxe or money. Make 1 out of the 7 days a skin, 2 practice cups, and the rest are money tourneys. Then repeat for the next 3 weeks.

they need to go back to simplicity, less overpowered weapons, go back to raw skill based weapons and raw build fights Bring back double pump, back when double pump was in the game prior to season 4 the game was the most balanced, and they only added dual pistols and more broken SMG's because the bad players were not good enough for build fights, it actually required skill to fight people, it wasn't just OP weapon spamming But since we have zero-build mode now, we shouldnt have to worry about who is good or not good at building , we should go back to raw balanced weapons that do not destroy walls in half a second , and 3 pick axe hits to break wood, go back to the old days where it actually took time to get inside a box and not just phase thru everything instantly with OP weapons and utility items

Yes the player base is dropping since OG, but that was always going to happen, if you look at the numbers it's pretty obvious what is happening. Peak OG was 11.6m, avg OG was 3.1m, which has dropped to 2.5m for this month's peak and 1m avg, but this time last year was only 1.8m peak and 1m avg, so not really down in the big picture, just returning to the core player base after the OG hype has died down, still numbers most games would love to have.

In my opinion, I really think that epic games needs to dial down on the graphics and focus more on the performance because for me lately the game has been extremely lagging and for people on old gen/low end pcs, they are struggling also I honestly think the new movement is getting to me more and more everyday, we didn’t need a movement change so I think the sooner this movement is discarded the better

Worst part of the season is the lack of mobility. Last season what made it so fun to play every day was that you could get on and just w key with your duo or squad in ranked. Now you hop on, land, fight off spawn, and search for other players for the next 10 min before getting another fight. It just gets boring. Even a game like r6 siege (which has been on a rise the last month or 2) feels more fast paced and entertaining.

qualled semis but cant even play because of life. there is no tournaments at all, more ranked cups than cash cups. they cant schedule right, and im not enjoying the game like i used to.

The reality is that this season is just a below average season. You can nitpick why that is - but as below average seasons drag on, the player base and viewer count drops. It's always been that way. People love to say that the game should just be like OG fortnite all the time - and while OG fortnite is a cool throwback every now and then, if the game stayed that way permanently, it would die off even faster. OG fortnite is cool for a month once a year. Epic Games is constantly trying new stuff, and sometimes it hits, and sometimes it doesn't. Half the time new features they add aren't even used the way they intended them to be. I think they do their best to come up with new, creative content. But it's hard to say how the player base will react to them. Also, while battle royale may be down, all of the other stuff is way up. I'm seeing 50k+ people in numerous other game modes, like red vs. blue, the pit, tilted towers zone wars, etc. So the game definitely isn't dying. It's just a below average season that's dragging on a bit.

Hey aussie! I think the main reason right now that the player base is declining because if other games. The main games right now are r6 (rainbow six siege) call of duty with the rebirth island update and live in game events, and brawl stars pc beta.

I feel the same way there's just not enough new stuff being added plus nothing original (OG guns,POIs,ltms ) and being that there will be no more storyline and live events I can't even recognize fortnite and have barely made any uploads in chapter 5 because of this it's honestly sad I've played for 6 years and loved this game with a passion and it's being run in the ground by developers that don't care about the community or donald mustard or anything that made fortnite what it was back then that everyone loved but instead only care about the cash they can grab with the stupid metaverse which is nothing but a huge collab or ad that noone cares about.

I took a long break from fortnite. Im talking 2 years long. But i came back to it this season and im loving it just as much as i ever had. I think when people play every day nonstop for years on end they sometimes just get bored. This season isnt anything special, its just basic fortnite so people arent as excited as usually. They just need to take a break and come back later. Fortnite isnt dying and wont die for a very long time.

This is one of my favorite seasons of all time I don't Care what anybody says I like the new pull out time on the new pump and I love the wings so many tricks you can do to make the wings good instead of shit I get there wasn't that many new updates and items mid season like we usually have but the loot pool we have is still amazing. But you are right gets stale after a while

Honestly my biggest issue is ranked it is terrible meta where it is so rng based and the amount of mobility items used to run away is so much you got cars, shockwaves launchpads and rifts to run away and bullet drop so you cant even shoot them out the air it is so horrible not to mention the ai's which are overall annoying to fight and can randomly beam you why can't they have the ranked and tournament loot pool be the same that is the thing about this season it is so unfun to play and you can't chase people who try to run away

The problem is the casuals. Every season the map and weapons change so much that it’s hard for us casuals to have fun playing when it feels like we are playing another game every time. If they just kept a game mode of chapter 1 and 2 seasons on rotation we would not have a problem

I think the time i quit playing fortnite as much was the start of chapter 5 when they changed the movement mechanics I stopped playing for the first 2 seasons basically. I also think fortnite doesnt need to re create the wheel in the game they just have to add too the game just make sure theres a good shotgun and good weapons all of which should be viable to the game play. And make great map changes thats basically it I also would like to see comp fortnite and casual completely seperate playlists with completely different loot pools. It never makes sense to me why if theres a weapon they introduce or something like that they have to do it for both playlists too me it doesn't make sense only because competitive should be a playlist set with a competitive loot pool and casual should be with a casual loot pool. I also think more tourneys should come back to fortnite being back hype cup tournaments and for the love of god please bring in a scoring system for ranked its mind boggling that a lot of people dont know how the scoring works in ranked so they just W key everyone and then they say something like WTH I only moved so and so amount make the scoring visible in game

I think epic have spread themselves too thin between the layoffs and all the game modes they are trying to push. With Mustard gone there isn’t someone reminding them at the end of the day they are a BR at the core. Hopefully next season they reallocate their focus more evenly 🙏
