I just have to say, as an avid hiker/camper, the expert level s'more maker cooks with the coals, not the flame, and they patiently toast the mallow until it doubles in size and is a caramel color all over, the outside is crisp and the inside is melted ALL the way through. And if you're really on top of your game, you remembered to pre-soften your chocolate by placing the cracker with your chocolate on a clean rock by the flame.

This village in France looks like a Hollywood set. Being a citizen of the States I would bet that I have never been in any building/structure over 200 years old. If that even. Just incredible to think of what great Architecture they had 900 years ago and standing still today.
@chasethecat38393 жыл бұрын
Oh there's more old buildings in America than you probably realize. Definitely NOT as many as in Britisn/France and other countries nor of the size usually. I never noticed until I started doing some biblical and historical research. Take a look around the next time you go to town. Usually its court houses or government buildings snx they usually have Roman features. Many in America have been torn down or lost in the Great fires (Baltimire, MD, CHICAGO, IL, San Francisco, CA, etc (and most Catholic and other churches are 100-200 years old but were destroyed in fires and rebuilt. As we do not have many specialty builders, they do not rebuild in that style or they rebuild over the initial structure. You can tell by the windows at basement level rdbuilt with a different brick of concrete. You have to look close. I have hundreds of photos of these old buildings. Sorry to go on..just very passionate about historical architecture. 🙂

Wow.... Stephanie just reading through some of the comments. I wondered why you were keeping quiet about your health if it was not so serious. Now I know; the seriousness of the the debate is jaw dropping. Enjoy your stay and get some zen and do you love. You are a saint to keep doing your vlogs for the rest of us.

I haven’t had the opportunity to find out what happened to Stephanie, other than seeing her post whilst in hospital. My daughter just had a baby and, as a 70 year old grandmother, I’ve been a bit busy as a result. I was SO shocked to see Stephanie in hospital it took my breath away... something about her heart? If she considered the details private I would not pursue inquiry but evidently the details are out there. Please someone fill me in. Stephanie had grown dear to me for SO MANY reasons. Thank you 🙏

Forty years ago this summer I spent a few days in Sarlat, intrigued by the troglodyte houses, the truffles and pâté and the fact the town was a stronghold of the French Resistance. I don't remember if it was at the cathedral, but along the wall of one side of one of the town's churches was a line of bullet holes, chest high, where the Nazis executed many important members of the Resistance. I also attended an outdoor theater festival there. Thank you for jumpstarting these wonderful memories of my time in the Dordogne.

Oh my gosh that cottage! In that idyllic setting. And the market. Makes me want to go to France and stay at least a full year. That’s the only way to fully enjoy it.

Those armchairs are needlepoint with petty point for the people that's why their faces are so nice and detailed. My mom use to do that kind of work and everyone wanted her to do the needlepoints they bought because of her beautiful workmanship. She taught me how to do it, but I never had time to do it. I do all kinds of DIY"s. Maybe one day I will take it up. I always wanted to have "Pinkie" and "Blue Boy" above my bed, and "A Young Girl Reading" on my side of the bed, and "Dutch Fisherman" on my husband's side of the bed. I had all 4 needlepoint canvases. I was about halfway through the first two when we had a house fire and I lost them all. Maybe one day I will buy them and make them. It is such beautiful work and the are so wonderful to have! I can't wait to see your room when it is done! All my best from Alberta, Canada.
