I need a full movie length interview with James and seeing his process. I have always loved the wash technique he uses in his work with the oversized brush.

Me too! Im gonna practice it... Does anyone know? I feel like he mixes medium and water and spreads it on the canvas and then splatters or brushes paint into it? He says he only uses acrylic and water so hmm

I just finished seeing your video on your sketch books and now I just finished this video--it's 1:32 in the morning here in Los Angeles. When you got to your larger paintings, I was left speechless. Your work is beautiful and original with a language of its own. I'm in awe with your larger paintings of people doing kimchi...just a brilliant idea! And why not! We get to explore a different universe than what we see in our euro-centric upbringings here in America. And your glazing with that light blue--it just brings everything in the painting together. Lastly, thanks for your honesty and how you remind us how you tried to fit in when you arrived in this country and how you sometimes didn't fit in. I have gone through a similar situation as I have worked in academia and most of the time was the only Hispanic in my department--and being Hispanic, I've had to remind myself that my people were here first--long before George Washington was still in diapers. And we all have something to share and give to the world around us. Bravo! And adelante!

Hearing him speak about his work after all these years of following him on his website is my equivalent of therapy or ASMR 😅
