If they don’t stop raising prices on everything it will be empty more often

For the past 20 years I've been saying the same thing. There HAS to be a price/cost point where the numbers start to drop. And yet for some crazy reason, if anything Vegas has never been busier. Often during the week, the crowd sizes on both the Strip and Fremont St resemble what use to look like only on the weekends. Can't figure it out, Vegas has never been more expensive, yet the tourists keep coming in droves.

I've had the same thought many times over the 34 years that I've lived here. But it never happens. In the 90's, Nevada casinos would take in 7 billion per year. Even after Covid, Strip hotels can take in 10-12 billion in a month. This place may end up being a ghost town...but not today.

Tourist still keep coming with the high prices but can you imagine how crowded it would be if prices were back to being reasonable? You wouldn't be able to walk the streets.

The few times I've been in Las Vegas, I purposely got up at 5am to walk around the strip because I have heard of this peace zone that happens. It is amazing. I mean, no cars, no people except maybe.....and I mean maybe, one or two. It is the most refreshing experience ever. And this peace moment allows you to take in all the beauty of this place.☺♥ There is such a powerful feeling to stillness....feels free.

This was an interesting thing to do a video on. Very original. I haven't seen anyone else do this kind of thing in LV. Great work. I was on the strip one Christmas morning at about 6:30 am. You could have fired a machine gun in a full circle in what was typically the busiest part of the strip and not hit a soul, either in a car or walking. It was amazing.

This reminded me of Vegas during the pandemic… Maybe a handful on the strip at 6 am or any time of the day. Nearly all the lights on the strip shut off , the only lights on were the windows lit up like hearts. I remember people doing yoga in front of the fountains and the bike groups riding the strip unobstructed. Defiantly a weird time and feeling... Probably will never see it again in my lifetime.

Aw man I didn't go down to the strip at all during the pandemic, but if seen videos.... been through there plenty of times during 5am recently and from I've seen it's still not nearly as empty as it was during the pandemic... your right, that may never happen again during our lifetime... too bad I missed it.

Prices adjust according to demand. If prices are too high, people stop going to Las Vegas. It happened way back around 2010. I remember resort fees were $10-$12 and parking was free. All it takes is another recession and they will lower the prices on everything. Remember room prices when they reopened after the Covid shutdown. Rooms on the strip were around $100 a night.

Great video! I am forever on east coast time when I come to Vegas so I love the early morning exploring. $6 for an iced coffee is not bad considering what you get charged at Starbucks, and Zeppolo has such great views from that second floor balcony. I'm surprised that's still a "best kept" secret.

Great video ! Reminds me of the time we went to Vegas like a week after the covid reopen. Even at noon everything was empty ! No cars driving the strip at all. Restaurants were so limited , but playing the slots was peaceful! . We stayed at the venetian, and the room rate was cheaper than the resort fee!!! That's a cool upstairs , never knew that. Reminds me of that little upstairs area from the macaroon bar where you can overlook the gondolas

PRO TIP: Reserve accommodations at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa located in Summerlin. A rental vehicle is essential for your stay. For those wishing to visit the Strip, consider self-parking at the Sahara Las Vegas (free parking and a good way to avoid traffic). For convenient travel along the Strip, the Deuce bus service is an excellent option. If you enjoy walking and the weather permits, that's a great option as well. Staying off the Las Vegas Strip can offer several advantages, such as more affordable accommodations, a less crowded and chaotic atmosphere, and the opportunity to explore local culture and attractions beyond the typical tourist hotspots. Additionally, off-strip hotels may provide more spacious rooms, unique dining options, and easier access to a variety of entertainment and activities without the hustle and bustle of the Strip. Overall, it can lead to a more relaxed and authentic experience while still allowing convenient access to the central attractions. As a resident of Las Vegas, I often share this advice with family and friends who come to visit, and they appreciate the guidance. Additionally, it is advisable to wear comfortable footwear.

That's also not a particularly pedestrian heavy part of the strip, it's literally at the end with the only 1 casino between the sign and luxor being Mandalay bay... (and tropicana is being torn down).... so that part of the strip is especially prone to "empty" times.

Maybe because it’s so hot! ☀️🔥🥵LV is not as affordable as it used to be and the US dollar is too high for many international travellers. For the same price of a Lv trip, I can now stay at a Central American resort for a week or two. At least I had the opportunity to enjoy the real 24 hours Vegas before the pandemic hit.
@jasonsezno8197
@jasonsezno8197 27 күн бұрын
LITERALLY NOTHING is as affordable as it used to be... even the stay at a central American resort. And your comment has probably ALWAYS been true. Also I've been talking to many tourists who have been getting round trip flights from various places in the country for under $200 round trip, then staying at the Westgate, Arizona Charlie's, luxor, and various spots downtown for under $100 a night. And I'm not talking years ago, this is happening right now... With that said the strip has always had "amusement park" prices... the real problem is rent and real-estate prices for locals since the city itself is EVEN MORE popular do to the new sports teams we have.

@jasonsezno8197
@jasonsezno8197 27 күн бұрын
Just to add to what you've posted.... And don't walk directly behind the strat either... you may find yourself in a precarious situation as that is an area known as "naked city" or "the naked city barrio" and can be a genuinely dangerous area, especially for tourists. Also if your downtown and your a tourist stay in areas that either A. Have a big screen above you (Fremont street experience) or at least near it B. Have what look like Christmas lights above you (gentrified downtown, generally safe while most things are open) or C. Are inside a casino.... also container park is fine, and the arts district is great during 1st friday... and probably not horrible during normal business hours... but is still quite a sketchy area when nothing else is going on. Being a pedestrian too far from these areas could land you in spots that are not just some of the most dangerous in the city, but also the country. If your a tourist (especially if you dont have family here and you've been here less than 5 times, stay in the touristy areas until you get a better feel for the city.

I remember walking to Bellegio one night about three years ago and I was surprised that there was so few people at night. I thought a lot of people would like to be out at night since it's cooler during the summer. it was really weird with so few people in a most popular tour destination. I can also think of another reason why there's few people. people can't afford it anymore due to the new Cost of Living. shows and foods are getting really expensive lately, even in Vegas too.
