Hi Craig, thanks for the video. I learned a lot. I have a question for you, I am using Magento 2.4.0, elastic search is also updated version. But I don't know why often elastic search is "failed". After i give the start command for elastic search its working fine. How can I overcome this issues? Please suggest me
@DigitalstartupUk2 жыл бұрын
I've had that happen a lot on my sandbox server. I put it down to not having enough memory. Elasticsearch is very memory hungry. I've not had the issue on my Production environments as they have tons of memory.

Very helpful. But then, which changes result to the hughe improvements in performance? From my knowledge, the main change is the cache management switched on. The other changes should not make too big differences.
@DigitalstartupUk4 жыл бұрын
Cache Management is by far the biggest difference when loading pages. But the other stuff helps behind the scenes for sure.

@@DigitalstartupUk Thanks for the clarification. That was my impression as well. Another big improvement - not mentioned in your vidoe - is the downsizing of photos. They are sometimes huge and should normally not be larger than 200kb, ideally around 50kb.

I feel like I've done a good job of drumming it into peoples heads about optimising before uploading where I work - So, I don't really think about it. But yeah, good shout!

did everyting still slow in localhost xampp. take 7 minutes after each code change and cache flush. cant work like that
@DigitalstartupUk4 жыл бұрын
That seems more of an environmental issue. Like Magento doesn't have enough configurable resources to stretch its legs. You should ensure that your stack has enough allocated memory and CPU.

Hi Craig, i have followed the No.5 DISABLE JavaScript Bundling method. Unfortunately the front display was abnormal for some reasons. I tried to go back to the STORE> Configuration> Java Script Settings and don’t know why the menu bar icon did not being me back to the page. After that i tried to use the history and went back to the configuration page. The menu could not be toggled down. Therefore I cannot access to that particular toggle menu that i changed. Do you have any clue on how to fix the problem ? Appreciate it you can help me. Thanks!

This should be pretty simply to sort. If you repost your question on the forum (with a screenshot) then I'm sure we'll get you up and running in no time (digitalstartup.co.uk).

As with Magento 2.3.0+ it is not recommended to use flat catalog categories/products as stated in the documentation: docs.magento.com/m2/ce/user_guide/catalog/catalog-flat.html

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I wasn't aware of this. I'll make sure to do some more research on this.

Starting with Magento 2.3.0+, the use of a flat catalog is no longer a best practice and is not recommended. docs.magento.com/m2/ce/user_guide/catalog/catalog-flat.html Just thought I would mention it.
