Philippine mango is the sweetest in the world by the 1995 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. As you already know Filipino love sour flavor like vinegar. I personally like green mango shake sour more than the yellow mango shake which is sweet. I also prefer eating green mango with shrimp paste or alamang in Tagalog.

Mango in the Philippines has peak season for harvesting. Thay mango maybe sour because it is not yet fully ripened. But the sourest mango becomes the sweetest as well.

A sour mango means it's not yet ripe. Just give it a few more days and that sour mango will be a sweet mango. My guess is that they ran out of sweet mangoes or some customers prefer the sour mango. From the previous vlog in Baguio, Grace was eating a sour mango and she even had a second serving. So she really likes a sour mango. The mango in the Philippines is actually the sweetest mango in the world.

The sweetest mangoes are from Pangasinan and Zambales .. these are harvested usually during summer or months of April, May .. other varieties from Davao are usually the whole year round but is so expensive .. and also Guimaras mangoes are also sweet but usually seasonal, too

The sweetest mangoes are from Guimaras. Most of their mangoes are exported since they can earn more by selling their mangoes abroad. That's why we don't get to see a lot of mangoes from Guimaras in the local supermarkets.

Guimaras mangoes are the only mangoes of export grade. The sweetness and texture of the mangoes are different from the regular mangoes. It is not stringy and the seed and skin is very thin. The sweetness is exceptional. Guimaras mangoes indeed is the pride of the Philippnes.

That is not the Philippine version of mango sticky rice! That is a Thai mango sticky rice IN the Philippines. For the Nth time, why is no one raising this??? Even Gray and Jay. Does Budbud Tsikwate ug Mangga not exist in Luzon??? Mr. Mergim, our mango sticky rice does not look like that. And we do not serve it with coconut milk. On our version the rice is wrapped in banana leaf and it is served with a pure chocolate drink and PH mango. That mango in this video does not look like PH mango and we don't serve it like that. Our mangoes are the sweetest in the world in the Guiness Book of Records. Could someone help Mergim find an actual Philippine mango sticky rice.

Most of the mangoes of the Philippines are sour actually. Except if the mangoes are came from Davao or Guimaras which ia really hard to source out. The technique is you have to put mango on direct sunlight and exposed it for a while to stimulate sugar in the mango.

i do not think mango sticky rice is a filipino dish or a dessert served in restaurants in the Philippines until recently. These days it is everywhere but go back 15-20 years and it's nonexistent as a restaurant dish. However, because we have mango, rice, and coconut, it is easily recreated (like in thailand if needed because it does not have a magical ingredient (spcies) that makes it exclusively Thai). Also, having fruits in season is always best. We tend to avoid fruits out of season because they tend to be treated to force ripening and it is not as good.
