You guys have misstated the agreement. It didnt say Cuban retains control of the team. The agreement states that Cuban retains control of basketball operations which is 100% allowed. He wont sit in the league meetings and vote but they basically are granting Cuban final say on all on-court decisions. Essentially they’re making him president of basketball operations and wont overrule his roster decisions

The league would have to approve the terms of that sale. Meaning that they would be approving a new person in league meetings with essentially no say in the operations of the team. There is no chance in hell they would allow a situation like that, because it would essentially allow Cuban to run the team with a shield (the owner in name only) between him and the league. I'm sure Cuban would love that situation, but not 1 single other owner would ever approve it.

Cuban has been public with his reservation about expansion, which is inevitable. Once that happens, the Mavs share of revenue drops from 1/30 to 1/32. Perhaps this, along with other issues, influenced his decision to get out now.

I don't know who David Samson is but in the first 5 mins he says the Mavs value is overinflated at 3.5 and that's not true. The pacers just sold 15% at 3.8 or something and they're definitely worth less. He also says that people don't leave control to the previous owner and while maybe it doesn't happen often in sports it happens in business all the time. Very very strange

Love this specific show or segment . Glad they keep it separate from the main show. Dan keeps thinking the show should change/has / wants to empower his workers . I mean that’s cool. But don’t get mad at large portion of your normal audience that likes and listens less and say they are the ones out of touch. I get they want to work very little. But the idea the show is “evolving” is horse hockey. Imagine stern having a whole new cast of on-air personalities just running the show and still calling it the Howard stern show.. that’s what they are doing here. It’s not that the show is all bad. But they assume people want a random scheduling with random people on each day. We watched for Dan and Stu with occasional chime in from shipping container. Now it’s the opposite, with most times Dan and/or Stu not there, while doing 1 less day of show already. I just don’t know how they think it’s a recipe to get people to listen more.

We the NBA needed publicity, Cuban got it for them, and himself. Baseball needed "Cubans" 20 years ago. Bud Selig managed, by doing nothing, to run their ratings into the ground.
