Your perspective is negatively narrow, dismissing God’s omniscience. The great YHWH God knew (not predestined) the New Eve, Mary will say YES to God moving in her, when the first Eve rejected God. Mary was free to refuse God’s invitation to become the mother of her Saviour. But Mary is present at, participates in, and cooperates with God at the blessed point in history when the Creator God was made incarnate as a man! The Greek words for "full of grace" are "pleris charis" and are used to describe Savior Jesus in John 1:14 -- these are not the same Greek words used in Luke 1 to describe Mary -- Mary was being graced/favored, not "full of grace".

When the Bible says that God is our Father it is referring to Him as the source of all things and Creator of the Universe. Are you equating Mary to that status? Mary did not remain a virgin, Mary was born in fallen nature and needed to repent and put her faith in Jesus to be saved like every other human.

Oh my gosh, I have never heard the Joseph and Rachel analogy as a foreshadow to Jesus and Mary. I have never seen that! That got me too. Especially the part where he said both Rachel and Mary's sorrows have special intercessory powers. I've been watching things about uniting your suffering to the cross, offering it up in prayer as a sacrifice, and this just made me understand why Mary is the powerful intercessor that she is by the merits of her sorrow at the cross. I have to disagree with you and all Protestants. We honour our own mothers, do we not? We even have a special day for them? Why? If we cannot honour and adore the mother of Christ who sacrificed so much for Him and mankind, we are not living as Jesus taught, to honour our mother and father. As Catholics we look at pictures and statues and we pray to Mary in Heaven to intercede for us because we are too lowly to ask for our own selfish desires of Christ himself. The SAINTS role in Heaven is to intercede on our behalf. This is in reverence and respect to GOD. Remember how prophets have interceded for mankind throughout history? When was the last time recorded that GOD spoke to a person, rather HE uses humans to do his work. Do you think the venerable Saint John Paul II is not at this time guiding and mentoring his flock left on earth? In the afterlife, what would he being doing, wouldn't he help us? Why not ask for his help? Why not kneel before him in reverence? This is not because we place Mary or another Saint higher than God or Jesus, more this is a means to approach God, which HE loves and encourages us to do because HE left us and went to Heaven then gave us the Holy Spirit. If we were not to honour Mary then why have Jesus as human or be born at all? All humans have mothers. Thus for us, Mary comforts, she saves, she supports, she sustains, and we think of her as a child would a mother. How can anyone, any Christian - be mad about another person getting aid from devotional prayer or from asking the Mother of Jesus for help? The Rosary is comforting. Mary came to earth to help us. She gave us the Rosary. I encourage all non-Catholics to try it. You can carry it with you anywhere. It would be a revolution. In fact, it's what Mary predicted, that one day the Rosary would save the world. The words and time spent reflecting on the mysteries of the passion of Christ will replace all the other negative thoughts you may have - and that alone, in and of itself, brings peace. Yes, through Christ. Of course and ALLOW Mary and all the Saints to help you. Have a crucifix in your home. Have pictures that encourage you to remember what Christ did, who his friends were, what he expected of us. The pictures and statures lead to Christ. The New Rachel type was recognized and celebrated also by christian art. There is for example a Carol (Coventry Carol) which was a part of a play performed at Christmas time. This particular Carol was a monologue of Lady Mary weeping for children killed by King Herod. It is very moving. Nowadays many choirs sing this Carol and the message is dedicated to mourn the death of unborn babies and newborns.

Adam called his wife and helpmate "the woman" before the fall. She was called Eve after her fall from grace. So, by calling his Most Blessed Mother "Woman," Jesus is affirming her freedom from the stain of original sin. Mary was not sinless. She was a good woman, but she was human, so if she had been sinless, then her mother or father, or both, would also have been sinless, which means one or both of her grandparents , great-grandparents etc.....would also have been sinless, and this would have gone right back to adam and eve, and one, or both of them would also have needed to be sinless, but we know they weren't, because they sinned when they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By claiming Mary was sinless, the vatican claims there was no fall of man, and if there was no fall of man, there was no need for a Saviour / Messiah, so the erroneous belief that Mary was sinless is actually anti-Christian. The bible also tells us ( Luke 2:24 ) that Mary offered two turtledoves. Leviticus 12:8 tells us speciifically that this was a "sin offering" for the poor who couldn't afford a lamb. She plays absolutely no part in the salvation process whatsoever, and doesn't hear prayers or rosary etc.... Jesus Himself said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, except by me". Mary is not part of this.

The main reason for Mary's unique privilege of the Immaculate Conception that's given by Pope Pius IX in his Apostolic Constitution 'Ineffabilis Deus' is that she was predestined by God to be the Theotokos (Greek = God-Bearer), or Mother of the Word incarnate, that is made flesh. Because of His extreme holiness it was necessary that He became united with a human nature in the womb of a woman who was never infected by even the slightest stain of sin. Second, the thought of Mary being sinless did not originate with the Vatican but began to be more developed and widespread in the early Eastern Church. The dogma doesn't nullify the fall of Adam and Eve, since, as a child of Adam, Mary was subject to inheriting our ancestral sin, but she was redeemed by her Son in view of his foreseen merits by a singular kind of redemption, which is "preservative," whereby she was kept free from all sin, both original and actual, or personal. Mary was redeemed in the most perfect way. Our form of redemption is "curative." Third, the sin offering of a pair of two turtle doves or two young pigeons was for the unintentional infraction of the ceremonial cleanliness law, viz., giving birth to a child. The sin wasn’t a moral fault, but rather being in a state of ritual uncleanliness. The offering, which was made after one had abstained from entering the temple area because of their impure state, reinstated them into participating in regular temple service. Further, the sin offering wasn’t so much for the person who had become defiled as it was for the sanctuary that would become defiled by the person’s previous condition or state. The sin offering, therefore, had nothing to do with any moral transgressions Mary might have committed against the law. It does not point her out to be a sinner (Judaism 101). Finally, Mary was called to morally participate in our redemption in association with her Son - the New Adam, since Eve had a central role to play in the fall of Adam as his unfaithful helpmate. This doesn't make Mary out to be our Savior or Redeemer, but she is the Mother "with the Redeemer" (co-Redemptrix) just as Eve is the Woman "with the sinner" (co-Peccatrix). The early Church Fathers recognized Mary as the new or second Eve. I suggest you study them. This is what the angel Gabriel had in mind when he greeted Mary by saying, "The Lord is with you." About two millennia later, we still see that our Lord desired to work together with his blessed mother so that “everyone might be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim 2:1-4). The apostle Paul writes: ‘We then, as workers “together with” (sunergountos) him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain’ (2 Cor 6:1). And the apostle adds: ‘God “works for good with” (sunergei eis agathon) those who love Him’ (Rom 8:28). God desired to work for the good of all mankind with (sunergei/ συνεργέω) a young lady by the name of Mary when he sent the angel Gabriel to her with His kind proposal. And God prepared the mother of our Lord with a complete and perfect endowment of His grace so that she would be completely faithful and up to the task (Lk 1:28).

For purification presupposes uncleanness. But there was no uncleanness in the Blessed Virgin, as stated above (III 27-28). Therefore she should not have gone to the Temple to be purified. I answer that, As the fulness of grace flowed from Christ on to His Mother, so it was becoming that the mother should be like her Son in humility: for “God giveth grace to the humble,” as is written James 4 verse 6. And therefore, just as Christ, though not subject to the Law, wished, nevertheless, to submit to circumcision and the other burdens of the Law, in order to give an example of humility and obedience; and in order to show His approval of the Law; and, again, in order to take away from the Jews an excuse for calumniating Him: for the same reasons He wished His Mother also to fulfil the prescriptions of the Law, to which, nevertheless, she was not subject. Reply to Objection 1. Although the Blessed Virgin had no uncleanness, yet she wished to fulfil the observance of purification, not because she needed it, but on account of the precept of the Law. Can you explain the push for calling Mary, the Mediatrix of all Graces when in the book of Hebrews, Jesus is the sole Mediator. When we pray to God, He is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent, so He is with us, can be everywhere, can hear everyone’s prayers as He is an unlimited being. In order for everyone to pray to Mary, then she has to have the same qualities of divinity. So is Mary God or a Goddess? What I see is that people prefer the comfort of Mary as she is clothed and not naked on a cross and all suffering and bloody. But He is not dead anymore, that was once and for all time. Jesus gave us a sample prayer, the “Our Father”. And He tells us to pray in His Name. I don’t pray the Rosary, but is this prayer, in Jesus’ Name? If God is the One who answered prayers, then to me, I see prayer as worship as I do not only ask my requests but I adore the Father as the Lord’s Prayer says to. I cannot worship anyone but God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus said that not a single sparrow falls to the ground without God knowing it; and we are much more important than that. We are material creatures, so God communicates and saves us through the material creation. That is why He became incarnate through the Second Person of the Trinity in the material Person of Jesus. What I am trying to get at is that God has spent the entirety of not only human and religious history to reveal Himself and His plan of Salvation; but even all of creation itself. It is possible that God could have snapped His fingers and the full adult Jesus could have suddenly appeared in the midst of Jerusalem. But that is not how God did it, nor how it was revealed to us. Jesus who is the sole Mediator and Savior of the world came to us via His chosen Mother Mary. Thus Salvation and Grace came to all mankind through her. There is a big difference between saying 'through her' and not 'because of her'. God further reveals the role of Mary is to play at the wedding feast of Cana. It's not that Jesus would not have helped the couple without the prompting of His Mother; BUT what is more important is what is God trying to teach us about Mary and how He wants to use her to implement His plan of Salvation. If the wedding guests represents us, and the wine represents Grace; then clearly Jesus is the sole source of this Grace, but He only dispenses it at the prompting of Mary. So the term 'mediatrix' is not meant to be the feminine form of the word mediator as if Mary would be equal to Jesus or the source of the Grace/Salvation of Jesus. It simply reveals the plan of God to use her to bring that Grace to all her children. Just as Jesus came to this world through her (that was God's plan); so too can it be said (but not in the same way it is said of Jesus); that salvation came to us through her.

Kind of like when you're sick, your need for medicine is important, and finding the right doctor/diagnosis helps you get that medicine you need. Devotion to Mary doesn't take away from your relationship with Jesus. It enhances it - like learning about and appreciating a painter's masterpiece helps you appreciate and love the painter all the more. The love for the masterpiece doesn't take away the love for the painter.

That's only one reason God commanded man NOT to pray to the dead, conjure them up, put them before Him. #15 In Mk 6:2 "Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, & brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" This passage is referring to the FAMILY of Jesus who were waiting for him at the outer gate. Jesus was teaching in the inner gate with many men, women & his apostles whom he referred to as his brothers, sisters & mothers. He separated his physical family with his spiritual family. #16 There are no queens in heaven, there is only the ONE king, Jesus Christ. #17 God doesn't want anyone "devoted" to any of his creations of flesh. How many times do we have to explain and completely and clearly state out loud: Catholics do NOT worship Mary. We honor her for the reasons explained so beautifully here. Mary would not want our worship. She is ALWAYS pointing to her Son, the Son of God. She says: “Do whatever He tells you.” John: 2:5 But then again, our Protestant brothers and sisters also don’t want to believe the words of Jesus Christ Himself when He says in John 6 that we MUST eat His flesh and drink His blood OR you will have NO LIFE within you for He IS the way, the Truth and the LIFE! This beautiful teaching should lead us closer to our Lord and Savior…. Who was also Mary’s Savior. Luke 1:17 I will be buying these resources! Thank you so much for this teaching video!

Our parish priest did a series on “Mary’s early life” he was told by a Jewish Rabi that Mary is immaculate because St. Anne (Marys Mother) conceived Mary after menopause, there was no blood in her womb, hence no original sin. It was Gods plan from the beginning that St. Anne and her husband were not able to conceive until old age…Gods timing is perfect.

I also don’t know much about the teacher but, the priest said he is a very well known and knowledgeable person that said that. It’s interesting and inspires me to learn more about the faith. The immaculate story was added to catholic dogma in 1854. The assumption of Mary added in 1950.
