Sunlight is powerful stuff - probably more powerful than you might realise. Light affects all of our most important body functions - from sleep, to our mental wellbeing, even our immune system. Here's an illuminating look at why morning light can help regulate your sleep patterns - and why it's so important to get outside to experience the full benefits. ☀️

I have switched to a treadmill during the past few weeks, because of the cold and storms. I notice a marked decrease in my energy and mood. Without my daily walk outside, I am not feeling as well as I used to! I’m heading back out, but cursing the cold!

Whenever i see the bright sunlight i feel active and good. When it is a cloudy day i feel dull and moody. I personally love to feel the sunlight and I always prefer to keep the doors and windows open all the day because that makes me feel lively.

Me too, but the biggest effect of all is when I see the sun break through after cloudy weather 😊

I don't know why I used to close the all doors in afternoon to avoid sunlight and enjoy being present in artificial light.

Medical advice also kept us in a bubble in our homes for 3-5 weeks at a time in the name of Corona lockdown & night curfews over the last 2 years in India We risked getting arrested or fined if out in public before 5am (at dawn time) Some people even delayed their Vaccinations for fear of stepping out during lockdown

The body is covered all over, in light sensitive (and other types of) sensors, that can help detect the environment it is in. The eyes are important, but not the only module of importance. Basically you do not want too much conflicting sensory information, as this results in chaos (inflammation). Plenty of sunlight throughout the day and darkness at night helps to keep the body in proper order of balance.
