Great tips. Specially what you mentioned about eggs proportions, baking pan size and high temperature all can cause the cake gets dry out of oven! Thank you for sharing these valuable tips.

If your toothpick or something comes out clean it means it’s dry because when you take cake out of the oven it still cooks in the pan but if the toothpick comes out with a little bit of cake of in that’s good because then it can cook in the pan

TurboBooster 4life yep exactly, it keeps cooking! Don’t over bake it and it will be perfectly moist 😀

Omg everything you said makes sense! I overbaked my cake, I also put more dry ingredient than wet ingredients and the temperature is too high. The result is a dry and horrible crumbly cake. Thank you for the tips! I'm a good cook but when it comes to baking I'm a total dummy 😂. Thanks again for the tips and you got yourself a new subscriber!

Cake was dry and crumbly when cutting. Followed box ingredients. Should I have used milk instead of water? Or what can I add to box mix to avoid this happening? Tia

Have you used this box mix before? I’d recommend trying a recipe from scratch.. I’ve never used the a box mix so it is difficult for me to advise.

Thanks for this! Pretty sure my future banana breads will be spot on now I know what went wrong this time. My oven is set too high and I need to bake for 50 instead of 60 mins! I wanted to take it out at 50 but thought I better stick to the recipe... 🙄

Why did my cake become rubbery...doughy sort of I don't know how to discribe it .it literally tasted gross like egg and sponge literally. 😝😝 . This happened in a recipe where i beat the egg.whites and yolks separately. The texture of the cake was doughy with no small air pockets inside.

I came here because today I made cake with 1/2 portion of given recipe and it turned too dry almost like a bread loaf with hard outside and soft like a slice bread inside.Also it turned out to be unsweetened.😭 Now I am going to add sugar water 💦 on it ....I think baking time of cake was also to be half.i baked it as per regular recipe time about 40minutes on slow flame.
@claireelizabethcreates4 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may have baked your cake for too long.. if you are scaling down a recipe it’s also important to adjust the baking time. If your recipe doesn’t work for you perhaps give another one a go.. don’t give up! 😊

hi how do i maintain the cake moist after icing it with buttercream or whip or cream cheese. i don't have a chiller at home, hence i have to keep it in the fridge. when i cut it it turns hard and dry, so how do i maintain the softness?
@claireelizabethcreates6 жыл бұрын
What kind of cake is it? If it's a fatless sponge it will go dry quickly. I would cover the cut side with clngfilm to stop it drying out. Cake will dry out faster in the fridge so if you don't have to keep it in there then don't...just a cool pace will be fine. Hope that helps! ☺️

How do I cool down my cake without drying it out? How long does it take? Thanks!
@claireelizabethcreates7 жыл бұрын
Hey! You can cover it with a tea towel to keep in the moisture...depending on how cold your room and how big/deep your cake is it could take 30 minutes to 1 hour for layers on sponge. Big deep cakes and fruit cakes will take longer! Hope that helps ☺️

Mercy Chhangte I would divide the mixture into two or three shallower tins so that they bake more quickly and won’t brown as much on the outside. Or bake at a slightly lower temperature.. there are lots of reasons this happens. The recipe will be the main one!
