Why is my grass not as green as it normally is?

Big thanks I’m cool season in the Chicago burbs and I have these areas off my deck stairs. I was thinking it’s was poa annual…. I’ve been mowing at 3.5” to 4” since we are in high heat and no rain. Once I’m done I usually blow these off in to garden area.
