Why is My Jeep Gladiator Sunrider Soft Top Leaking! My Gladiator soft top had been rock solid! Even been through a couple of driving rain storms. Now, sitting in my driveway it leaked! Let's have a look to try and figure out why my Gladiator Sunrider Soft Top leaks? Any ideas?

Good luck, I have seen so many Jeeps come in with roof leaks on hard and soft tops. One repair company had a homemade sprinkler system set up just to try an duplicate a worse case situation. Many problems were do to the rubber seal overtime loosing its flexibility. My two cents would be, that the leak is between the rear hardtop shell and the sod top. It does not take much to create a leak. You can try to duplicate it. Let it poor between the two for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Sit in the passenger seat and being a good book. Eventually you will find it. Then the fun begins.

Hi Rob, maybe try to simulate what happened and park the Jeep the same way, run a hose on the roof and watch from the inside to see where the leak is actually coming from. But, I've had a few Jeep Wranglers JK Unlimited with the best top softops and they did leak a little bit from time to time - never anything serious though. Best of luck brother!

Double check your Z clips...a lot of people have issues getting them installed just right. Also make sure that the clamp that attaches to your hardtop in the center is seated and clamped properly. Good luck!

My only issue was a leak when parked backwards on a hill. I find it to be quieter than the Freedom Panels👍

Rob 2 options (this is a repeat of other suggestions) 1) park Jeep as it was turn the hose on and see if it repeats (run water for about 30 min, unless you see water dripping inside) if it doesn’t just scratch you head and go “huh”, if it does leak give Bestop a call. 2) just give Bestop a call see what they say.

Same thing happened to me this weekend that rained here in SA I had my JT parked in the driveway the same way & my entire seat & door was wet. I checked everything & everything seems right. I think I’m already tired of this soft top I want to remove it already. /: upload a video taking it off I don’t know how. TIA boss!

what you think about rubbing armor all on rubber seals and take a bright light to seal at night on inside and see if you spot anything on outside.

You don't want to put petroleum based products on rubber, it will cause faster deterioration. If you want to look for leaks in rubber, I would recommend water with a small amount of soap in it.

May be an ignorant question, but is there any chance that the top became saturated and the water bled through the fabric of the top? Not sure if that's even possible, just throwing out a thought.

It’s frustrating to find water leaks Rob. Back in April I found two inches of water in the spare tire wheel well compartment in my wife’s Jeep Cherokee, couldn’t figure it out for the life of me where it was coming in. Tore the back interior right down to the medal frame, got my son to hose the car down and finally figured it out. It came from the wire harness that was attached to the tail gate unto the body, the rubber seal was broken off. Why you ask it was broken off , while back there was a recall for 2014-16 Cherokees that had a tailgate module power switch that could catch on fire. Dealership replaced it but never sealed with adhesive cocking on it. Did it my self and problem solved.

Park it out side, back it in, run the hose on top...don't spray, just run the water on it....and watch.

You said it, it goes back pretty easily. Unlike the hard top has more snug latches to un-do. I'll tell you why it's leaking for the same reason you have a problem with the stop start. Because although these products are made for the jeep, they're not made by Jeep. These companies get the specs and build something around them, something to go along with them. But Jeep builds it step by step so everything is as tight as a ducks ass.. These other companies build copies of, or close to it, but not the real thing. So you're going to have issues, discrepancies, you'll find faults in them because they just don't fit like Jeep brand parts. You spend just as much time doing problems with mods videos as you do with the mod videos. You've done quite a lot more video's just on the stop/start issues you had ever since doing those two mods you've done trying to remedy the issue when you could just push the button. I get it, mods are video content. You could also just make a video about shooting yourself in the foot because you're getting the same result. I love the channel, but sometimes i just have to shake my head. We as people have been taught, that if at first you don't succeed, try try again. Or, you could just Let it Go. Try Using Jeep parts.
