Even the "wipers on/off" button on a stalk is not great. Just put a dang speed changer on there too like you said.

The app and navigation in the vehicle literally do know exactly how many stalls are taken up at the supercharger you are heading to in real time, how many are available, even how many other vehicles are in route to that same supercharger. They go so far now as to know when non Tesla vehicles are parked and charging taking up two spots. They have all this data in real time. Just put in your destination, follow what the car recommends and 99% of the time you should be fine

How about the locals who just decide to stop in? Or the travelers who know where they are and don’t use the navigation system to get there? There is no perfect system.

@robmotiveplus the information you would need to avoid wait times or at least mitigate them is readily available, you just have to take a second to look at it. Navigating to a supercharger Also preconditions the battery to improve charging times. As the old saying goes you can lead a horse to water...

Great overview, Rob. I bought mine back in June and absolutely love it! I’ll never go back to ICE for my daily driver. I really like the “auto-shift out of park” feature and the recent update that also shifts for you when you stop to change directions (as when you back out of a parking space and then shift to go forward). It’s still considered a “beta” feature, so doesn’t always get it right when shifting out of park, but that should improve over time - and I’ve found the secondary shift to work VERY well. It’s cool to just glance at the screen to make sure it got it right rather than having to swipe the little car icon up & down (not that that’s a terrible burden either). Anyway… I just love all the tech in the car - and how power, smoooooth and quiet it is. It’s just a pleasure to drive. After 6 months and roughly 7k miles of ownership, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat!

What you can also do is remove 4 bolts to the seat and pull the seat out and sit on it outside the truck and relax and then bolt it back in when you are done for the day.

I have the acceleration set to chill by default, unless I find myself in a spot that requires some OOMPH. Steering, keep on light, I steer with my left thumb a lot, that, and I miss the roadboats of old days, when that was an enjoyable way to turn corners, pull into parking spaces and what-not. As I have it on Light steering, sometimes, just for a goof, to the person behind me, I grip the bottom right section of the wheel and shake real quick and it'll make the whole car shudder visibly and most people back off me real quick when they see that. PS: I only bought a Tesla for the "HOLD" regen braking feature... That is worth its weight in gold in stop-n-go traffic.

Everyone is entitled to say what they want. Got my 2024 MY long range duel motor for a reason had to have stalks for turn signals and drive . Did not want your model model for the same reason's. Love my tesla. Door handles diffently take getting used to. I'm like you I'm no spring chicken, also have a 2024 suberau my wife drives and loves. Just got back from Michigan to Florida trip. Took the tesla straight through both ways loved FSD 13 . Had no problems navigation to super chargers along both ways. Took 24 hours too get there total. 21 hours on return drove by myself. Wife had to work.

Thank you for the video and commentary! I'm a fairly new still to owning a Tesla (bought in April of this year), and so far it is the best vehicle we have ever owned. We personally pay for FSD month to month, and it is a huge relief being able to relax on our commute and let the car take us to all our destinations. We average about 1000 miles a month, and it has saved us a ton on fuel costs and regular maintenance. It's true what you say at the end there, you get to the point where it is still cool and an amazing car, but it just becomes like any other car because it is so easy to live with!

Mine just started doing it a couple weeks ago. I found myself sitting that the train station the other night with a dead battery waiting on AAA. They checked the auxiliary battery and alternator and said that both were good. It was my main battery that had to be replaced, which they did; but the warning light (I call my Avengers light) is still on. :(

It should also be noted that you should rotate in the spare tire every oil change. Why spend so much on that extra spare if you're not going to use it? Ultimately, it will extend the overall life of the whole set, putting your money to good use. I see so many jeeps with a brand new spare and 4 worn out tires. At that point if you have to use it, it'll have the same problem as a completely different size...
