I was about to discard my Stealth Cam as it had quit working totally. I had reformatted the card, took batteries out for the recommended time (30-45 min.) and there was no display....nothing. I ran across this video and did the cleaning of the tray and contacts which had the white corrosion in places.....and, like majic the Stealth Cam works like new. Thanks for the valuable video!

I had two Tasco 8MP trail cameras that stopped working recently. I was about to toss them, but tried this trick. They are working again! My terminals didn't even look that cruddy, but I did all of them including the springs inside with a Q-tip & white vinegar. I used a needle nose pliers & Q-tip for inside. I also did the batteries that were still good. I started buying a few more expensive cameras thinking these Tasco were junk. The Tasco lack some features (no battery indicator is the most annoying), but they do a decent job for the money. This is something everyone should try before tossing a camera. I am guilty of tossing one some time ago. I wish that I still had it now. Trail cameras should have this tip in their instructions!!!!!

That's a good fix Joey! I've noticed that blue junk on the terminals as well. I wasn't sure if you'd pull out a soft drink or vinegar. i think either works. It's worked for me in the past too! Nice video!
@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I just used a soft drink to clean the terminals on my truck a few days ago. So yes they would both work, but if you use soda on the camera be sure to clean it well afterwards. you wouldnt want to draw ants to it that might start living in the camera

@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Plug it in? you mean like a cord that plugs into the camera and into an outlet? If so, I would bet you have some corrosion in the hole that the wire plugs into the camera. I have had several cameras quit working, all were due to corrosion in the battery compartment

@@nrocks75 1st thing I would do is replace the batteries with energizer ultimate lithium batteries. I would almost bet it's a battery issue.
