Remember the CR7 Chapter series? All those crazy special editions? What happened? Why have Nike almost stopped making CR7 colorways? Well, MDS. CR7 boots, but only sort of...
In today's video we take a closer look at the Mercurial Dream Speed 007 Nike Zoom Mercurial Superfly 9 Elite, the 7th MDS boot in the collection started all the way back in 2019. While they technically bare the CR7 logo, calling these a pair of Ronaldo signatures would be a bit of a stretch, and by Nike standards, in my opinion at least, not their best work. Should Nike continue the MDS series?

I’d love to see the carbon fiber concept into the MDS 008. We need a remake of that boot in some way, and the story behind is the 2(008) first champions league for Ronaldo or something, it’s easy to make up a story.

Yea my Son had the MDS001 Superfly 7 an he went Mercurial Vapor 13 Tech Craft Pack. Then went to puma Future Z Super Tech, Lasertouch 1.3 an now Adizero F50 Legend's Pack. The MDS002 an 003 was the last one's i liked 👍

It’s been a long time since he’s gotten his own colorway. I guess they wanta focus on mbappe? Ronaldo will easily keep selling you more boots then mbappe. Those colorway is one of the worst in my opinion

This is just me but when I think of MDS lines I often think of Bruno Fernandes and Kylian Mbappe rather than CR7. The MDS colorway at this point has peaked since the Vapor 13 and to answer your question,I do think it’s better that Nike more or less give Ronaldo his own colorways while make Fernandes,Odegaard and Mbappe as the poster boys for the MDS series

Just had a question are the the vapers wider then the superfly because a lot of people say that the fit is less snug and have more space in the heel part of the vaper compared to the superfly. Is that in general with all the no sock cleats, that they have more space then the sock ones?

This was perfect move from nike as the colorway is cool and ronaldo fans are declining and ronaldo fans who are in market for boot will go for this. sure collector market would not buy them as no unique

It's because he plays in Saudi Arabia now; Saudis aren't passionate about their domestic league, and the international audience for those clubs is non-existent. So CR7 is no longer the merch-selling stud he once was. Nike is moving on from focusing their Mercurial branding on him.

Facts, and he was robbed of the 2018 Balond d’Or, UEFA player of the year, FIFA player of the year, and Puskas because of it. And craziest thing is he’s been cleared as innocent twice now for those allegations.

@@omkartikar7350 no, the original commenter was saying that since those allegations he hasn’t had much not that he doesn’t get them anymore. And it’s true, since 2018 I believe he has had about 5 actual signature color ways. He used to get 2-3 a year. And quite frankly the entire dream speed “collection” makes zero sense having random players wear them and they don’t sale. Would be better to still give CR7 his own color way and drop that as a collection same way they do for Mbappe. The 2 biggest names and top players signed with Nike would absolutely sell
