Hi Hannah!! Sooooo much fun!!! I’m a Canadian/ Aussie, who is also onstage, working as a performer/circus/actor.. etc.. 😝 I was on tour in Japan for a year and a half way back in 2004.. watching your vlogs are bringing back the best memories, and traveling the past 15 years I relate to your experiences!! I love your energy and outlook on life.. continue with the great vlogs!! You’re inspiring me to start creating again.. ✌️❤️🌺❤️✌️
I lived and worked in Nikko for the last two years and I felt more at home in that town than my hometown in Australia. I actually taught just around the corner from the bus stop at Chugushi! So once a week I was able to experience what you did. The temple you visited up there is called Futarasan. I hope you go back because it’s too beautiful all year round not to sightsee. I’ve left Nikko for only 3 weeks now and I already miss it

So nice to see a video from Nikko and Chuzenji-ko. I used to live in Utsunomiya (just moved back to Sweden), about 40 minutes from Nikko and have been there soooo many times. Onsen is the best, loved how they had really crammed all your beds in there. :)

From your youtube videos, I think that you have already understood about "Wabi, Sabi" = わび・さび(侘・寂)of Japan, so that, you could find the place almost people from foreign country has overlooked. It looks attractive from the our viewpoint of Japanese.

I went the in summertime (August) and the place was heaving, although I only went to the main big temple complex. Does the train there from Tokyo still leave from the middle of a department store? The signs in the shop was sort of like "2nd Floor - Menswear, Bedroom Furnishings, Railway Station". slightly strange to say the least. I remember it was a long train journey, with a lot of stops, and I had to change trains at about the 14th stop. Somehow I lost count, but it didn't matter, as absolutely everybody got off the (full) train at once, as they were all going to Nikko.

Hi Hannah! My family is planning a trip to Nikko from Tokyo, this late February and maybe first week of March, do you think it's better to ride local trains? We are planning to get a JR Tokyo Wide Pass, and just not sure if it's valid around local trains in Tokyo as well. Anyway, I am glad I saw your video, my dad wants to see snow and I wasn't sure where to take him that's near Tokyo. Thank you!!!

So many Westerners when they think of Japan think only of sprawling, crowded cities, without realising how beautiful the countryside is. And because their public transport is so good, most places are easily accessible. Plus you can get by with knowing very little Japanese, as the people are very friendly and helpful.

Noticed your Suica Fare was 1700 yen. Heres a Tip i learnt living in Tokyo getting around on the JR network and going on day trips. I would buy a Tokunai pass for 750yen which is unlimited rides in the metro zone. If I needed to go out of the tokyo metro zone i'd just pay the fare adjustment on the way out. going back in you buy the cheapest ticket to get through the gate say 170 yen, then use your daily tokunai pass to get through the barrier in the free zone. Its a bit sneaky and the locals would never do such a thing but it can save you a bit of cash. Good luck with your travels.

i decided to visit Nikko on the 24/11 in 2016 when Tokyo experienced the first November snow in 53 years, and trains were delayed and it took me half a day to get to Nikko, I was stranded in a small town as the trains stopped going to Nikko due to heavy snow. By the time i arrived the day was getting darker and all the attractions were closing soon and i ended up wasting my Nikko day pass. No a very pleasant experience but i really hope i can go back again and properly appreciate the beauty of this place :D ps. i have also experienced my first ever earthquake on the 22nd and that was my first ever trip to Japan, i don't know if i was lucky or... :S

@northlock56 жыл бұрын
Maybe he wanted to take a look at a sign or store hours she was standing in front of and turned around when he saw it. It's smart to travel safe but being paranoid and overly suspicious is exhausting.
@MichaelSEhcscim6 жыл бұрын
Better be safe than sorry, right? Well I agree overly suspious and paranoid is indeed tiresome but yea when someone approaches me i will be also wondering what his intentions are so that just a alarm system of me i guess.
