Poppy playtime has got to be one of my favourite mascot horror I like the lore within it and I also kinda like the puzzles to

The thing about Poppy Playtime that so many people overlook is that it is actually pretty rich in themes for its story. Right out the gate, you know that things will be dark as poppy flowers are a symbol of sleep and death. From there, the story takes a Reanimator approach to bringing the toys to life rather than the cliche of "souls of children" that so many other competitors have taken from FNAF. It shows the horror of bringing back the dead in bodies that aren't theirs and the evil in trying to commodify something like it. Add that to the themes of how predatory adults lurk in child friendly spaces and you have created a wonderful time capsule of a franchise.

I would also say the ease of the gameplay helps too. While I love games, I ain't the sharpest tool, and sometimes I have to look up puzzle solutions. But with Poppy I haven't and the game also doesn't affect my nerves as much as other games like FNAF which I have never beaten.

The reason why is because the story telling for the first chapter was good and huggys design and chase was scary and unique

A good way I like to look at mascot horror is seeing it as gateway horror, like the goosebumps books the kind of horror that’s outside of the adults only category to get kids interested in the genera, this is also why I think many critics dismiss the fnaf movie not knowing why it was toned down in certain aspects

For the FNAF movie, critics don’t like it not just because the horror got tone down but the movie simply didn’t explain much at all, you got to be a fan of FNAF or know the general lore behind it to enjoy the movie otherwise you would be like “ what’s going on ? This movie is nonsense “

@@diypropsmodels7064 well to be fair it was a movie for fan, and also it didn’t need to explain everything it just needed to give us what we needed to know for this movie, I personally don’t see how people can’t see that, in the One piece live action it didn’t need to explain everything about Devil fruits just the basic the same is here the animatronic are haunted by the spirits of the kids, because a serial killer used the restaurant as his hunting ground that’s all we needed to know for this movie

@@connormarchand6302I mean if someone who aren’t FNAF fan, they wouldn’t know the career guy in the beginning is one of Freddy’s owner, they would think the fort scene was goofy, they wouldn’t know the springlock Ella suit reference, the boy who’s Golden Freddy, they wouldn’t know why the animatronics was haunted (which briefly explained near the end)

I love poppy playtime When I 1st heard about it I wasn't really big on it But then when chapter 3 came out it changed everything and I became a huge fan of it to the point where I just want all of the plushies and everything I even have my 2 favorite characters which is cat nap and dog day I find them so cute and they represent me in a way I'm really excited for chapter 4

What I love the most about poppy playtime is the gameplay. It’s actually fun to play! I reaaally don’t like five nights at Freddy’s gameplay, it’s so repetitive and I would never have fun with. The only fnaf game I actually like is help wanted. The story is also way too long and It’s so confusing it don’t know when to stop. My final straw was when springtrap was back once again in security breach and they completely fumbled Vanessa. I like that poppy playtime have planed an ending and a complete story
