Beautiful analysis. Setters have a very different world compared to the rest of the players in volleyball, and I learned so much just watching this video. Marouf is certainly a genius; so sad that he retired but he'll always be the best to us.

I don't watch volleyball and I've never played, but I do appreciate the way you break down their mechanics. Helps me appreciate the game more.

Great content, please more of that! I feel like Maroufs playstyle is the most similiar to De Cecco. Both have an unorthodox playstyle. Instead of sticking to a certain rythm and forcing themselves into a consitent setting position and form, they take it how it comes and just go with the flow to let the rythm lead them instead of the other way around. Definitely two of the most entertaining Setters to watch. So yeah unorthodox is probably the best word for them, you never know what to expect.
@mohammadyousefi5612 жыл бұрын
Exactly, the reason why these two players are different from other setters and so similiar to each other mostly is because they have been gifted of sport intelligence and both have a high environmental awareness in the filed. They can easily see and predict the opponent blockers movement. I would say both are pure talents and so different than academic-trained setters.

Hey Coach, im not a volleyball player but I still love all this educational content on the sport. My younger brothers on the other hand really love volleyball. One in particular really likes masohiro sekita cause he’s a short setter like him. And the other likes serving. I hope you could do analysis on sekita and or any other big servers that could both jump serve and jump float at some point in the future. Also I think it would be a cool idea to do analysis on whole professional teams and how they synergize with their team mates and complement each other’s strengths or duos or combos or things of that nature. Again, big fan, thank you so much for the great content

Forgot the name, but speaking of deception, I watched a video where (I think it was for Brazil, subbing in for Bruno) exaggeratedly arch his back in air so all the blockers committed to the opposite, and he ended up setting outside for an open net.
@nick80022 жыл бұрын
The biggest reason is because he does the best to set different balls to different hitters and still make the 1on 1 block. He can plays with slow hitters and quick hitters. Him, Fernanda Ventrini, Feng Kun and Nootsara Tomkom. They all set differently with either just finger or wrist or strength from whole body.
