It’s so true When De Cecco says “the more difficult plays are easier, and the more easier plays are difficult”. Can’t be anymore right. Just the sheer effort and confidence into making a difficult play is what makes the play seems easier. Unless you’ve played any sport and came across such situations, you’ll probably never understand. The easy plays are the ones you have time to doubt yourself and think about making a mistake.

Yep more time to overthink or half ass the ball because it's easy

Can someone explain what the problem is with the set at 7:52 (Micah's last set to the oppo)? I listened to the explanation afterward and went back to watch it, but it didn't seem like he twisted to the right much at all. Maybe just the camera angle? Thanks for this btw! One world class setter training another world class setter and we get to get a glimpse!? Brilliant!

I believe he's trying to tell Micah not to follow through with the rotation when he's setting right, saying that if he turns his hips too far then the ball will go too far right, which is much harder for your attacker to hit. I think it's the same idea as what he was saying at 3:45, just warning about rotating with the whole body as opposed to just the torso. But I could be wrong.

How would you sum up what he said, is there a simple explanation to have in mind all the time?

This is awesome, thanks for giving us this content. As a side note, I feel like guys with broken English are often the best instructors because they don't needlessly overcomplicate their ideas.

Can someone explain why we turn right and face the net after back setting?

It’s better than squaring your back to the right side. People square the shoulders to the outside and adjust for the right side
