To be honest, the meta is meta yes but if you’re good with the hero, meta doesn’t define their strength, you do. As long as you are actually able to make your hero work, it’s better you play them than a meta hero who you can’t play at the meta level. The problem with Selena is that if she doesn’t hit her arrows, she’s 90% useless, so the main thing they should do with her is either a faster arrow, or an arrow that whenever gets close to an enemy it tries to chase and move towards them since it’s super easy for enemies to dodge her arrows, Selena is literally an Assassin! She should be feared by others just like Gusion Nolan Aamon etc… people now see her as food in the game unfortunately

the reason why they put a 60 second timer on her traps is because before, it used to last for an indefinite amount of time and everyone would put it on places where the enemy couldn't step on them (inside walls, outside the map, etc) so that they'd have vision around that area until the game ends or until someone dashes to it. The reason why she was picked a lot in professional play was because she had the vision advantage against all mages and also because her stun has a short cooldown meaning that if their squishies get hit, they are under the pressure whether or it they should be using their purify to save themselves from follow up attacks. Another thing to note is that the "pressure" her stuns have gets lowered as the game continues. In the early game, it has really high pressure due to the fact that when you get stunned by her, you're probably dead because your teammates are away from you meaning that no one can save you from Selena. But in the late game, people tend to gather around making it harder for Selena to go in when she gets to stun someone meaning that her pressure lessened. This and the fact that games nowadays are like 20 mins long, it's really hard for Selena to apply pressure.

Hi, Celeste, I main Selena (over 2k of matches), and you TOLD ABSOLUTLY EVERYTHING SO PUNCTUALLY. I started playing Selena, because I used to guess her funny to play and here I am, fighting for her. I usually don’t use her on those slot of main heros (don’t know its name), ‘cause people used to ban her when they saw I use her. Otherwise, I don’t pick her as one of the first picks, I always try to be in the last ones, so the players won’t troll. I use her mainly as mid or jg, but Mid is my main lane. Since I started using her, I saw her shigning in meta for a short time, so I’m pretty excited for the new buff, despite I don’t think it’ll be enough to bring her back to meta. The current heroes made Selena feel like a Power Creep, but I think the upcoming update can fix it as a first step, but to bring her back to meta, mooton should make her usabul against tanky heroes

Popul and Kupa doesn't have unlimited traps. The max you can place are 3. I think what you meant was the traps stay indefinitely as long as there is no new one, If you already have 3, it will replace the 1st one. Selena's trap being nerfed is understandable since it becomes invisible and you can directly just put it to a hero. Popol's trap has a delay because of the back swing. Since it's also visible it can be dodge, unless it was hidden in a bush and it doesn't do any damage like Selena's trap. Selena's trap has both slow, damage and a debuff to who it hits and even amplifies the stun of her 2nd skill. So Selena's traps are still much broken that Popol's. I'm a Selena user as well, and in my opinion, the reason why Selena fell is because majority of people now knows how to counter her stun, either by spells, the boots or heroes that have resistance. Every hero on MLBB has a counter now, even dash heroes and those who can resist CC's or have CC's. It's not exclusive to Selena and because in order to bring Selena's full potential, there needs to be synergy with your team mate, and ironically you need to play Selena now like you're playing Roger.

As a selena main i stared playing her because of her unique skill set and play style and till now I have played like 500+ matches and had a decent 56% wr😊. You know as for my perspective moontan has Over buff some heros like miya and layla. And nowadays all mm like these want a tanky roamer to babysit and taking damage for them till the late game🤪. im a former selena main with 1000+ matches and i currently have 61% wr with her. i actually agree with what you say that if she was as garbage as people say, she would be revamped. but whether we like it or not, thats never gonna happen as selena's kit is a kit that's just too unique to only her. no other hero can do what she does. which is why it upset me whenever moonton nerfed her for no reason, as she was meta for soooo long. and people try to erase that fact. she started out as a jungler, but as soon as more assassins came out, she was able to reform and find a new role as a roam/mid laner. but moonton just cant allow that for her. they dont want her to be broken, but if we're being honest, she was only really broken during release when she had the insane 4 second stun.. otherwise she was pretty balanced (this is a controversial take i know but so many heroes have been introduced since then) up until the unneeded nerfs. finally, i think plenty of selena's mistreatment just comes from the fact that moonton HATES damage roamers. 😭 look at the unnecessary stuff they gave natalia over the years, or by basically suppressing mathilda's "assassin" role. its a bit sad to see cause roam as a role has always been shunned by moonton but healers/damage roamers get it even worse then their tank counterparts.

I agree with a lot of what’s said here, I think one of the better possibilities might be to buff the damage on traps, in games where it’s difficult to hit with her arrows due to high mobility/dash heroes, she has little to no damage without her combo. If her trap damage was higher, she could still apply a little pressure playing defensively. And I definitely see the losing late game matches where you can easily stun enemies because they’re huddled together- but no teammates (including the ranged teammates) will ever try to finish them off. Perhaps at least getting high trap damage on enemies in a losing situation might be a good option. Btw: is it possible to throw traps onto a moving arrow with the new faster speed of the arrow in advance server? I think it’s incredibly important to have the ability to combo moving arrow into trap rather than drop a trap and moments later throw an arrow through it.

When i first started playing selena i always fed the enemy. But i started to use her again lately and she is such a fun hero to play. I think the reason selena is hated is that people dont know she is harder than most of the other roaming heroes. When i play selena its like i am actually in a jungle lol, like the positioning after missing an arrow and the map being all yours throughout the game is so enjoyable. In my experience, i start with w because that stun is incredibly long and most of the time i get the first blood either from mid or gold lane when im just level 1! The sneaky gameplay is always fun to me. I try not the be seen on the map a lot of the time and i think thats how you are supposed to play it so that u can stun them when they are least expecting it. But people dont know about the importance in map control on selena and thats why they hate her. I bet she is the most map dominating hero ever however people cant understand that.

As a person who is a mage main and always a bit worried when roam selena is picked, I would say the most that Im afraid about is that she is 100 percent gonna steal kills. Doesn‘t matter much it‘s just not fun tbh( no hate to selena players). I pick Selena whenever I can (usually have to adjust though, so many mages and roam mains these days). If people complain not to pick her, usually they get real quiet after showing the global title. 😂 But on a serious note, it takes a long time to really get good with her. I initially picked her up because I hated playing against her. I still do. Needless to say, I was really sht. There is one moment however, one day, when a prediction is right, and something snaps in your head. That's when you know you made it. From one prediction one day, to essentially having a sharingan or some sht at the end. Maphack unlocked. I feel like a lot of it is about confidence. Just need to get to a point where you can say atk to your team before you even stun the enemy. She's the only reason I still play this mess of a game. When one day the time comes to leave mlbb, she'll be the one thing I'll miss.

As a Selena main, she's very fun and rewarding to play and master fully even with the meta right now. Even if she's a very risky pick I'd still play her because this is just a game after all and you're having fun, I personally find high risk heroes pretty fun to play as in the current state of the game and it feels absolutely sastifying and rewarding to win against your counters and sometimes carrying your team with a hero which is considered a troll pick and it makes me feel smart about it lmao. Currently I play Selena atleasttt 3games a day.. She is still strong as hell, lives up to her assasin role well.. Fav. Hero rightnow The only problem is that no matter how many Legendary u get, u just cant carry the game with her in Solo queue.. The whole purpose of a roamer or tank is to assist ur team, while u may get strong and get tons of kills, if ur teammate donno how to capitalise it.. its useless..

let me vent for a bit. i'm coming back from 2 matches which were both >25 minutes long each. i was doubted by my teammates for picking roaming selena, even when i showed my credentials, e.g.: mmr, wr %, number of matches, etc. and both times i was carrying and outperforming all of my allies. i lost both of those matches which resulted in over 1 hour of my time WASTED and my mmr ONCE AGAIN declines. i literally cannot get through the 30 star threshold because every step i take forward, i go three steps back. i am furious and enraged on a level the likes of which are indescribable. being a selena main in the current meta mixed with these IDIOTIC conspiracy theorists, who are trolling because they're incel nobodies is literally hell on earth. i'm desperately hoping for some immensely overpowered buff for her when they release her skin to make carrying an option for me because this is exhausting my nerves.

I played in Cambodia servers before moving here and while there are trolls from time to time, it does not compare to the surprising amount in EU servers. People seem to get mad over the most mundane things and despite your team winning in game, they will proceed to throw the game just for the sake of it. That being said, I've played against you several times in game and it was really fun, your arrow hit rates as well as just being an annoying roamer overall was quite difficult to play against. The thing with selena is that she thrive mainly in cordinated play she really one the best hero at setting up tower dive and setting up vision and that the type of thing that just hard to make work in solo queue she actually really really good if played proprely also assasin being the most important is kind of a narrow vision of thing imo the most important thing will always be the draft and your team synergy against the opposing one

Im also from EU server and i do honestly not like it when i have a Selena in my team. Usually they do tend to underperform (mostly because the player is bad), i dont hate mechanical heroes tho i mean i play gus,ling,lance,haya etc. Its just that yes if the Selena user is really good it isnt that bad but most ive seen arent that good (Tbh tho most random roamers i see even tanks etc are unreliable). Either way tho i think that your opinion is valid because you do see that Selena is out of meta and that theres alot of better options. Just a personal opinion, but I never once see her as a troll pick. I use her casually as a midlaner instead of a roamer in most occasions, jungle never since the potency of her being a jungler when heroes such as alpha, haya, suyou etc exist is quite low. I mean you can, but is not as efficient compared to existing meta heroes. Since the nerf on her cd I felt they did her dirty for early and mid game. Normally you got easily counter by most heroes during early and mid game especially with the current meta where rush roamer like hilda and khaleed as an example or fast paced heroes like ling and lance. She can easily counter slow moving heroes like clint and moskov tho. Therefore picking Selena with an actual tanky or frontline roamer as support is my go to. Picking her with no frontliner in the team rarely went well. Overall she still is a good hero with immense late game potential. Low cd, long range stun, high damage, pretty good mobility with the dash cd reset and the speed boost you get from the ult. On the hand of a pro user, she still is scary to deal with😂 Love the video btw

Main problem for a lot of Selena user is definitely the amoung of heroes with a bs amount of CC. Not to mention the cool down on her Skills and some nerf in her damage. Add in the amount of heroes who coukd counter her received tons of buff in recent years, unlike Karina who can keep up because of her First skill being able to avoid basic atk. Selena can't.

44% winrate in roam in mythical glory+ 0.52% pickrate. Stats for last 30 days. Mlbb io gives stats for glory+ now. She can be played well only if her team has tanky xp and jungle,otherwise her performance is not good. Dmg mathilda can shield,heal and assassinate+she can't miss her knockup. There is no reason for selena to exist when mathilda\helcurt are better assasin roamers who offer much better utility compared to her.

As a Mage / mid lane, she needs wave clear but you have to Trap+dash dash to do that. Vexana does that really fast, ceci, lylia, vale as well. She needs a buff where she have 4 skills, and 2 of them cools down when 1 is used like Sun and Lunox. and that is the Trap. The #1 Trap is the Regular Trap but moonton needs to buff the dmg a bit #2 Trap is an instant dmg for wave clear, the bite monster shows up instantaneously and has a bit bigger AREA but has lower DMG but has a burn effect. So that you can choose, do you want higher damage for burst? or do you want weaker dmg but faster wave clear. Because Selena can't defend the base AF. not even for a little bit like Valir. and the Arrow 2nd skill should have burn effect on things it passes through. The demon form is fine. Overall, Selena has the Fanny or Gusion issue where, "if you're not skilled enough, you can't play her"

Nah she's hot garbage right now, there's no denying that, you being a selena main would probably deny that but she's probably rn the hero that has the least impact in a game, please don't play selena in solo que because she's heavily team dependent, her being a damage roam means u need a tanky jg and exp to balance out the team comp also the point u said that she excelles in cc, nah she only has one single target cc skill which is also player skill dependent, just having the longest cc in game doesn't make her Excell in cc cause let's be honest realistically u don't need such long cc to kill a target. Honestly being a early game hero she doesn't even have that much damage. Selena is very fun to play tho ngl and hitting your arrows are also quite satisfying but it's painful to admit she is probably the worst hero rn, requires too much skill for very less rewards are compared to other heroes in the game. She desperately needs a revamp or atleast some buffs

You keep talking about how selena has a lot of cc, but she only has 1 hard cc and it's a single target stun (I think, the trap only slows right?). Her 1 hard cc is about as reliable as a franco hook, and extremely hard to get value with against anyone that's paying attention. Comparing the arrow to the hook, the arrow is better against worse players.

Yes if the player is good the hero will be good. But in higher ranks like glory and immos they start doing a lot of team fights. For example the reason why selena isn't picked by professionals is because they rely only in team fight. And selena doesn't have any Aoe, range attacks and aoe stun. Wether you like it or not other mages and roamers are better in teamfight than selena
